I've used needle nosed pliers to remove the headlight switch and wiper switch bezels on later stuff, but there were tools the dealerships used to remove them. Does yours look like the one in the picture in post # 7 above? If it does, maybe some snap ring pliers would work in the holes to move it.

To get the headlight knob out, you have to reach up behind the dash and feel around on the headlight switch until you find the pin to push. It will kind of feel like the head of a rivet sticking up about 1/8 of an inch. Like was mentioned above, it is spring loaded...so it moves in and out of...

X 2 on the Early A manifolds as best option. Do the fitting on an engine stand so you can make the drivers side fit well before sticking the motor in the car. The interference point is right below the # 7 cylinder port. Passenger side will fit fine, so only the drivers side needs some help. Good...

Is it the 65 Barracuda you had on here for sale a while back? If so, use the oil pan, motor mounts and exhaust from the 273. The truck will have a 727 in it, which can fit with a big shoe horn! My 65 has oval slots and the black flappers in the trunk rain gutter. I'll try to remember to look at the paint color around the opening when the plywood divider is down. My interior is black, the exterior was originally Baby Blue. So it will either be black, blue or red GA mud...lol.

I have a 68-70 B body 8 3/4 bolted into my 70 Duster with no mods to the springs or rearend, just to make it a roller. I put that part in bold for the nit pickers...lol. They are that close to being a perfect fit for a Duster, Demon, Dart Sport. Spring perches are cheap, so it doesn't cost a lot...

I finally got the measurement and pic for you. 2 3/4 from the mounting surface to the farthest point on the front of the clutch. Pic kinda shows less of a measurement, but it was the camera angle. Hope this helps.

That looks great! I think i may give myself just a wee bit more room around the shift tabs on the transmission, simply because I'm old enough to be subject to all the "Old guy bruises and nicks" when I barely touch something.....lol. :thumbsup:

That helps a lot....and saved me from making a boo boo when I put the hump in my 65 Barracuda. I was gonna take the zizz wheel and cut the flap off flush and send it! :eek:

I bought a fan assembly with a flex drive on it that's supposedly short enough to work on a 70 n up water pump in an early A. I'll try to dig it out of my Barracuda parts stash and get you some pics in the next few days. It's a pretty compact deal.....supposed to be from some sorta Mercedes...

Several years ago, somebody on here installed a new AMD full floor pan for a 67-76 A body into an Early A. If I remember right, the main problem areas were where the trans tunnel met the firewall pinch weld right at the top of the hump. He had to trim the width just a smidge, but it looked like...

Are the round lenses for the 65 Wagon not the same as a 64-65 Barracuda or Valiant? They look like the same thing. The square ones are obviously wagon only. If the OP wants me to measure my repro round lenses that I got from @Mexican Spec, I will.

If you have any buddies that work in a body shop, see if they will slip you some panel bond adhesive. If you use that stuff, make sure you got it where you want it....cause it ain't ever comin back off!

You might be able to get the round ones from @Mexican Spec who sells reproduction lenses. I got some from him for my 65 Barracuda and they are good.
