    Nicks Garage 383 build

I tend to agree with all your points here. That's not to say though that a 383 cannot be respectable with a few bolt on parts.

I saw that. That just shows one of two things. Either he's just spouting stuff for interest or he really doesn't know the proper way to do it.

Exactly. Those are about the same price now as a 451. Just dress it up like a 383. What's not to love?

I get that, but so far, I've not seen him address that it has standard passenger car pistons.....but then, I've not watched all that fiasco either.

I agree. Or even stroked his 383.

Just use the 383HP piston. It appears Nick didn't even do that.

    1972 Demon with 71 340 casting

Simple enough to verify. Find the machined pad on the passenger's side of the engine. It's about midway of the engine just above the oil pan rail. It will have a partial VIN. If it matches the VIN on your car, it's the original engine. It's not impossible it's original, but I'd say it's unlikely.

    1972 Demon with 71 340 casting

Yes. I would say a casting date that early compared to the car's year model means it's not the original engine. Are you SURE the car is a 72?

Why are classic 4 door sedans "disliked"?

I think it's an American thing. Look at our Aussie friends. They LOVE their four door cars. Not everybody here hates them though. I like um.

    73 duster front end swap

I tell you man, it's 100% your car and 100% your decision, BUT, IMO, the 73-76 Dusters are the best lookin ones. You want a point or a beak? Look at the 73 and up Darts. The 73 Duster can be one of the meanest lookin front ends there is. Before you do it, search the internet for images of...

    lower control arm bushing removal

You're tapping threads into something that has none. The tapered tap is really the most "correct" as it's the easiest to get started and generally cuts a little easier than the other two types. Just my personal experience.

The 383 and 340 have very similar rod to stroke ratios. We don't hear people basically calling the 340 a POS. So what's the difference? And this is a serious question. Yall know way more about this stuff than I do and I'm trying to learn something.

I agree. Normally, the margin on intake valves is narrower giving them the appearance of sitting lower when they actually are not. The exhaust have to have pretty wide margins to deal with all the heat.

1982 was first year for the hydraulic head. Justin is a good guy. I know he was dealing with some personal stuff last time we spoke. Give him a little time and space. I'm sure he'll resolve it for you.
