You know, if you quote someone they get a notification that there is new info or posts. There are two bolts in that bracket to the block and one to a water pump bolt.

any ideas what this wire is for

It’s connected to the hot side of the relay so it’s hot all the time in the cabin. It’s not a factory wire, so it may very well be from the old ignition system. If I’m not mistaken the MSD requires a constant hot wire and keyed power both. There are other aftermarket add ons that require a...

Flex plate bolts witness marks on torque converter

Just so you know Steve, I have seen a lot of converters with witness marks like that and it never adversely affected the converter in any of those cases.

383 knock goes away on warmup

Loose converter bolts often sound just like a knock, and can also quiet down when warmed up. The sound can also go away under load. It would be worth checking.

FAIL right out of the package.

Oh I’m actually expecting that line. I’ll be surprised if they send me a new one, but I have basically written off my 80 bucks already. Believe it or not 80 was fairly low compared to most places. Thats why I got it from Holley. Yea you could get one from Walmart or whatever, but who knows...

    UTG vs DDG

I’ll tell y’all one thing about that video. It was more interesting watching these guys go slow and break **** than watching a close race at 125mph between multi hundred thousand dollar cars.

    Kickdown issue

I don’t have a lot of confidence in the trans guy if he thinks the only solution is lengthening the rod. A&A trans makes different governor weights that they recommend when the car owner tells them what the trans is currently doing, but personally I think the PT kick down will handle it just fine.

    Kickdown issue

Haven’t seen that one specifically, but yes that is the idea. It’s an add on to the valve bodies that don’t have it and is really easy to add. I added one when I had the 904 in my Dart and it was night and day difference for kick down.

You might want to grab a pic of the part throttle kd assembly so you know what it looks like, if you don’t already.

    Wheel lug hack.

Yep, there is a learning curve about where to place your prybar/tire iron, but when you get it right you can even rotate the tire a little when needed.

The non existent part throttle kick down is what I was thinking as well.

    Owner hoping for 50k?

At some point in the video they mentioned the motor was 70. That car is definitely a mid to late 70’s car. 74 I’m thinking.

    46rh transmission center conversion

I assume you are using the vacuum switch to get throttle controlled kick down. It may be that the vacuum switch is the culprit in the OD chatter. Try bypassing it and see how it acts. I scraped the vacuum switch on my setup because I found it really wasn’t necessary. If I need that much...

    46rh transmission center conversion

Yes as said OD, then lockup. FYI, OD is fed off the third gear pressure, meaning there is no way the trans can apply OD before it’s in third first. LU can be engaged at any time and any gear. If you plan on using pressure switches, it’s a good idea to set up OD first, then set up Lockup. This...

    Amp Meter issues

ALL power goes through those. The amp meter passes power from one to the other while reading the amps. It’s a common fault point. Some of us connect those together as you did and put a volt gauge in instead. A volt meter has to be connected to keyed power, unlike the amp gauge. Do a search for...

    Carb Advice

Hoping you know that most any carb can leak at the shafts if pour fuel in it. That fuel lands on closed throttle plates making fuel seep out the shaft. Shafts are not air tight, and it doesn’t leak when running because there is a vacuum there normally.

    UPDATE on the trashed shackles

Yes, clearance. I moved the spring brackets inboard 1/2 inch front and back as well as the spring perches on the diff so I could put 10 inch tires an rims on. Without doing that the tires just barely touched the leafs. That 1/2 is all I could go anyway because of inner fender clearance. Darts...

    UPDATE on the trashed shackles

From my other post, this is where my rattle was coming from. Betcha I don’t break these. 1/4 x 1-1/2 plate and 1/2 shank bolts with nyloc nuts. The bolts have the heads cut off and welded into the holes in the plate. I used 1-1/2 plate because the poly bushings have a 1-1/2 outer section...
