Are small block "A" body push button 904's that hard to find ? Agree with OP it would solve immediate issues.

"F" bodies (Volare/Aspen) also use the short tail shaft "A" body trans. Like others, have one but shipping ???

If later style finned 10" drums ('73 and later?) use the same hub as the earliest 10" smooth drums I have a pair. Maybe you know or another more knowledgeable member can clarify interchangeability.

If housing retaining clips/tangs are rusty you may be able to simply drive the housing out, shearing off those clips/tangs. More possibility of success if housing is not rusted to brace it passes thru.

Oops misread. Agree with others regarding redrilling hubs and drums for BBP is probably least expensive way to go vs. converting to B/E spindles and drums but that is just an opinion.

Did not understand oldkimmers grommet comment until I looked at mine. It does have a larger hole than the one in your pic. If you're OK with the larger hole you can consider me a backup if oldkimmer doesn't have it.

Would an '83 pickup be the correct flywheel. Definite large center hole for crank register. Definite cast crank motor but...... might have been a hydraulic cam motor. (Had an odd shaped valve cover in bed). Not sure if that has an effect on engine balancing.
