question: in your initial communication did you explicitly ask what slant models it fit? did he expressly say that it fit a specific model?

i see you went back and edited your post. i'll leave it at that.

unless your experience is buying or selling with the person then i don't see how that has any concern with the situation. sure, you don't like the guy's disposition or personality but that doesn't mean he lacks integrity.

Need some help on pulley sizing

it looks like you've got all the i's dotted and t's crossed with that set up. i'd circle back and try another t-stat. maybe the one you got was faulty in some way-- just because it's new doesn't mean it's any good. from there another possible is that the thermostatic clutch isn't performing...

Need some help on pulley sizing

put in a thermostat and see what it does. and get a decent one for cripe's sake, not no vato zone special. also more directly, i've asked twice: running hot> on the factory gauge, aftermarket gauge, or with a IR temp gun? boiling over?

Need some help on pulley sizing

those radiators seem to be well regarded, but i don't know enough about them to make a call one way or the other. the fan/shroud and clutch are solid choices. what's the water pump, how close is the fan, t-stat? when was the last time the block was flushed? running hot> on the factory...

Need some help on pulley sizing

on the most basic of terms you have a problem with water flow or air flow (or both), or your radiator is inadequately sized. so maybe it's a little bit of all three converging into a perfect nexus of overheating. and what's overheating? stock gauge is pegged up hot? aftermarket gauge is...

NOT MINE Junkyard A-bodies in Southern California

yeah, i seem to remember the pans were okay. pretty solid car all the way around. the duster that's there is damn near gone a whole bunch of it has been cut off but the floors are still in it. it was a 3spd on the floor so there's a giant gaping hole there, but otherwise solid. stuff's been...

NOT MINE Junkyard A-bodies in Southern California

it really comes down to luck a lot of the time. but these days the yard vultures are en masse. just fools ambling around swiping ticky-tacky stuff and needlessly busting up **** in the process. savages. or everybody wants to chit chat and make friends. this isn't a lion's club luncheon and i...

Sold my 73 Dart Swinger…had her for 11 years!!!

that's a blatant lie, daniel. you've even said yourself that you need a loan to cover a portion of what you'd like to spend and the bank note was contingent on an appraisal/inspection. and it was up for 8 months. if you didn't see it, you weren't looking hard enough. which boo hoo, so sad, too...

    Slant 6 stroker?

there's somebody on here doing a 4.0 in a 2nd gen cuda. it's a bit of an undertaking from what i've seen in the thread. and that's just to get it to fit/mount, who knows about hood clearance. i like the motor, but that wouldn't be anywhere near the top of my engine swap list for these cars.

    Slant 6 stroker?

love it. i am 100% stealing this and in return i give you: myth is strong, memory is not.

    Slant 6 stroker?

the reputation these motors have for durability and the amount of abuse they'll endure borders on myth, but can they make a respectable amount of power and hold together as well? asking for a friend....

Shocks: looking for Blistein quality at KYB price.

anything is possible. the more *likely* scenario is ma mopar trying to save a nickle and doing away with the smaller .830 and just equipping all the slant cars with .850

Shocks: looking for Blistein quality at KYB price.

i ran ranchos and carrera back in the mid/late 90's when choices were scant, and *good* shocks were 6~700 bucks easy. you can do it. and they work. but for not much more money you could just get the bilsteins and they bolt right in.

    Thinking about 2 changes

some of those came with 7.25's... also, FMJ's are 54.34" flange to flange and springs are 44.46, with the A's being 51.5~52.62" and springs 43" on center. so, close but not exactly a bolt in.

Shocks: looking for Blistein quality at KYB price.

generally cars with AC got the next step up bars. so a slant with AC would get .85's, a 318 2bbl with AC would get .87's

Shocks: looking for Blistein quality at KYB price.

it could certainly have .92 bars or .94 bars, but they'd be aftermarket. MP offered .92's (that's what i run, actually) and i've seen custom .94 bars made by specialized suspension outfits (summers bros, firm feel, street concept).
