Watching flow when thermostat opened @ 160 & then putting restrictor in & watching flow. Was a good bit different.

Well, I forgot I had a Stewart performance thermostat installed. I removed it & reinstalled my restrictor & found my flow rate increased. Drove car & found temp to drop to 180 driving down the road in 90 degree weather conditions. Idling temp seems to level out at 215. Starting to think high...

They advertised it as 3300 cfm

Already tried that with one of Proforms new brushless fans & it didn't make it 10 miles before it puked out

All the components are basically new. Car has about 3500 miles on it since I finished it. I'm considering going with a bigger radiator. Mine is a ECP brand; but I'm leaning toward BeCool

On the road it runs 190. In traffic or idling it creeps up as high as 230. Motor is bored 60 over with Toth performance aluminum heads.

Both electronic gauges. One for Sniper & one for dash gauge. Both reading same. Not boiling over. IR temp gun about same as gauges on car. I have run a Stewart hi flo thermostat with sane effect

Are those double pulleys on the crank?

Water pump is a flo kooler. Using 3/4" restrictor instead of thermostat. Fan is about an inch away from radiator

Running a ECP 2 row 1 inch tube. 5 blade viscous fan with clutch & factory fan shroud. That's what's been puzzling.

Wouldn't ring gap cause overheating at idle & driving ? My issue is at idle; not driving. My temp runs around 190 on the road; but creeps up in traffic.You have to remember that I live in South Georgia where heat & humidity are brutal.

Replaced oil pump shaft with Chrome Molly Performance one. Found not metal shavings in oil filter.Oil pump was fine. Test pumped in bucket of oil with no issues. Put everything back together & she runs fine. Dodged a huge bullet because if I had been driving it I probably be rebuilding motor !

Well, after looking at the shaft; it looks like there was a bad spot in it. It was used when I installed it & there is no telling what kind of abuse it endured. When I worked in a machine shop in the 80s we use to spray WD-40 & blow compressed air in the port. Popping the valves to insure proper seating in the center of the valve face was always crucial.
