    727 shifting in drag race??

Don't know have never tried it. I just assumed that from a stop the transmission would shift into 1st.

    727 shifting in drag race??

With the manual valve body you can start your burnout in 2nd gear which will keep you away from the sprag and give you a higher rpm at the tires without over revving the motor.

    Kudos to Summit Racing!

Good job Summit Racing Equipment! My harness expires at the end of the month so I had to buy a new one. The new one came in yesterday and expires December 2026, so I'm getting an extra 6 months out of it!

    Weekend Win at LVMS!

I don't see how you can stand those temps! I was out at the track for Sunday TNT yesterday trying to lean things out for summer heat. 95-98 degree temps and humidity in the 65% range. I was dying!

    Post your 10 second combo

Reducing weight is the least expensive thing to do. Then I would go to a 4.10 or 4.33 gear and an 8" converter, 5500rpm. Assuming it is race only.

    Let's be honest....

I have run the MSD 6 Hemi ignition box for timing since 2014 without any issues.

This weather has taken the wind right out of my sails

I feel your pain. I'm going to a track tomorrow that is known for poor track prep just because the race in Ardmore Ok. the following week is more than likely going to get rained out and I need my racing fix. I'm not going to tow 200 miles and spring for 3 nights in a motel just to watch it...

    Transmission cooler for drag racing

I think I'm going to try a Derale plate type cooler with the fan on it and mount it under the trunk. If that doesn't do the trick I'll take a look at the Jones product. I ran my number last weekend when we were hot lapping, I just didn't like to see those trans temps around 220-230 after the...

    Transmission cooler for drag racing

I'm thinking about changing to under the trunk area with the fan on the outside. I'd love to hear from people who have it back there.

    Transmission cooler for drag racing

Last Saturday it was 95 and humid. the Last 3 rounds they damned near hot lapped us. I can cool my motor down, but after the final round I noticed the transmission (727) was 220-230 degrees. I have the standard aluminum trans cooler in front of the radiator. Do any of you use one of the...

Finally getting on a job that I had on my winter list. And didn’t get to

I feel your pain. If you've ever tried to get a motor plate to seal on the front cover of a Gen 3 hemi it's not fun. You are sealing a smooth plate to a motor front cover that is designed for the no permatex gasket and about a dozen bolts. The water pump is actually the easy part. The plate...

    It's been a good month...

Me and the other guy sat in the heat at the top of the lanes waiting to go down for our final because some guy in a 36' trailer had driven his trailer into the lanes and had them blocked as he tried numerous times to get turned around. After about 15 minutes of this, someone from the track told...

    It's been a good month...

Another opportunity for a win yesterday makes it 3 races in a row with either the win or a split. Yesterday was tough in the Texas heat with 95 degree temps and high humidity and having to run in the class with the delay boxes and fast cars. 3500 DA all day. We agreed to split it, then wound...

Partial rainout works in my favor

After 3 weekends in a row of rainouts, we were finally able to race at Xtreme Raceway Park in Trumbul Texas (South of Dallas) We didn't get the race completely in though as the rain stopped us with 4 cars left in no box and 14 in box. I made it to the final 4 due to the other guy turning it red...

GoDeadOn App. Tried it? Using it?

UPDATE: I made a couple of passes tonight and when I went to scan my time slips it said I had to pay the registration fee to scan time slips from now on. I guess they let me do a few free ones to get me interested. No thanks.

    Penn Grade (Brad Penn) oil

I ran 10w30 in my race motor for years, then I was told by BES in Indiana that I should be running 10w40. I'm trying Lucas hot rod oil 10w40 on my current build. It's cheaper than racing oil and has a very high zinc content. It's on about the 4th oil change and so far things are looking good...

GoDeadOn App. Tried it? Using it?

The app is free as far as I can tell. If you want it to predict your et's you have to pay for it.

How many of you grease your own trailer axles?

Do you have ez lube hubs? Every video I watched said it took about 1 tube for every hub. The idea is to completely replace the old grease so you keep pumping until you get all of the old grease out.
