Well, I’ve never done the swap so I don’t have any real experience with any of them, BUT when the time comes that I do a Hemi swap, the only three transmissions I’m considering are the TR-6060, T-56 Magnum and the 8HP70/90.
Well I can’t help you any with personal experience. But what I can tell you is I love the SOUND of the FRP Tomahawk cam. I’d have to do more research to see if they offer it for non-vvt though.
*Edit* So the tomahawk is a vvt only I guess, but FRP does offer 5-6 different non-vvt cams as well.
I do know @Riddler used the Ron Francis version of that switch along with a neon wiper motor. But that doesn’t say it’ll work with the original 3 speed
Something like this? I know Ron Francis makes one similar to this as well.

I think they may have changed something in the past couple years, not positive. The early Hemi’s (03-08) had issues with valve seats. The 09+ are the ones with potential cam/lifter issues.
Good deal! I’m envious of you! I’m planning on doing a Hellcat swap in my Duster, but if I found a heck of a deal on a 6.4 like that, it’d either go in my Duster or my stepside D100
Lol that’s true. I just pulled up pics of the G3 engines and I don’t think the block color will make a whole lot of difference. Turns out, even if they’re orange, by the time everything is on the engine, you can’t hardly see any orange anyway.
Will y’all be building any of these using the stronger BGE blocks for people who wanna add blowers?
Also, if you’re looking for a test mule, I’d be willing to put as big a decal on my car as you’d like and go through all the trials of driving a high horsepower Duster in exchange for a...
That’s a good looking piece! But I know what you mean about being too small. I bought a Ruger .380 from my grandpa when he liquidated his collection (sons, son-in-laws and grandsons bought them all). I need to see if my wife can shoot it good so she can carry it, it’s just too dang small for me...
Hey Mike, any updates on this build? I’m wanting to do something very similar with my 72 Duster eventually except with a ‘15+ Challenger with a 392/6 speed.
Lucked out and got in contact with a guy who works at Cleveland Power & Performance on fb and he sent me some pics from cars that clients of theirs have built. He’s gonna email me a bunch more pics. I’m gonna have to pick his brain when the time comes to do the actual swap.
Not sure how I thought this thread was a year and a half old 6 months ago. Lol.
Anyway, I was trying to find any info on this swap so I looked up info on Roadkill’s General Mayhem and found this hotrod article.

So, do you by any chance know if this same tone ring setup could be used to allow the use of the factory Challenger gauge cluster? since I believe it gets the speed input from the ABS module.
I know the 94-01 ram units will fit with some work and the Durango units will fit without any modifications. I haven’t seen anyone try the 03+ ones yet but they don’t stick up from the top of the tank as much as the older ones so that’s what I’ll be trying to use
