I'm the same way but I wanted to just start with the bay so I can get the drivetrain and whatnot back in. Then once it's running/driving I can worry about the outside of it.

Got most of the filler on and blocked then the first coat of primer down. Passenger side turned out a little better in my eyes but nothing more blocking won't fix.
It was covered in spray paint and you cannot spray anything over it (it’ll cause a reaction in my experience). If it’s original paint you can get by with just sanding it. Thanks!
Got it loaded up to take over to a buddy's shop so I can do the engine bay body work and paint. I'll do the rest of it later on after the car is going.
