Salma Barracuda is 60 years old today! Built in Hamtramck, MI on April 29th, 1965! Drove the car up the hill from my house to snap a photo of it and there was another '65 Barracuda in the driveway. I ended up chatting with the owner for probably an hour or so. Happy Birthday, Salma!

I've done that on my 65 Barracuda and the foam appears way to large, but you just need to compress it to get the covers over it. It's not fun and you should wear gloves. I had blisters on my fingers when I got done. Unfortunately I used the PUI covers and they are falling apart (7-8 years later...

The inner holes already existed and had rubber plugs in them. The outer ones I had to drill. Be careful not to drill through the brake line that's running in that area on the driver side.

Finally some rain in the forecast. So the car is safe and sound in the tinitest garage, that I'm very grateful for.

There are still new fires breaking out, but finally there is some rain in the forecast. It's amazing what these firefighters have been doing non-stop since the fires started. These helicopters are quite a sight!

The gas station is just around the corner. I guess it usually doesn't happen very often that you put gas in your car (at night) and park it immediately.

This is one a member posted a while ago saying it came out of a '65 Barracuda. You can kinda tell by that chrome piece on the filler tube that goes through the interior of the car: This is one for sale on ebay for a 1963 - 1966 Dart or Valiant. It looks quite a bit different:

The vent is definitely not plugged - it's in fact where the gas came out... Anyone have a stock '64-'66 Barracuda vent tube they want to sell?! There's a Valiant one on ebay right now, but it looks different from the Barracuda one, which makes sense, because the trunk is different.

I'm looking for a fuel vent line for my '65 Barracuda. It's missing on my car - there's only a rubber hose right now. It should be the same for 64-66 Barracudas, but the Valiant and Dart ones appear to be different due to the unique Barracuda trunk. Photo for attention only.

I was wondering if that had ever happened to anyone. So it's plausible. I've been filling up the tank all the way (to the auto shut off) because I've been tracking my gas mileage to compare the changes I'm making to ignition, timing, carb, etc. I will remember to not fill it all the way at...

So I looked into it and apparently gasoline expands 1% with every 15 degrees of temperature. I think it's an 18 gallon tank, so 0.18 gallons or 23.04 fl oz. It was 45 degrees last night and 65 degrees when it overflowed (not unusual in California "winters"). It was 20 degrees not 15 degrees...
