    9,815 mile 71 Demon 340 6-Pak Mr. Norm Survivor

I learned that from a friend. I had a 71 Honda 100cc Scrambler that I ran the piss out of for a couple years. I would wash it but never got in every nook and cranny. Sold it to a friend who gave it a good detailing and next time I saw it, it looked brand new.

A good detailing would make a pretty good difference. Needs a good scrubbing under the hood and all underneath.

    Interesting old automotive book

I worked part time for a friend at a local thrift store until the store closed in Feb, 2022. We had so much interesting stuff donated. But we pretty much couldn't give away books. I latched on to these for free. Some of the more detailed gun books I gave to a friend.

Who wins the battle to build an A833?

Back in the mid to late 70s, I ran an A833 in a 67 Camaro drag car. My car builder just did the slick shift mods on 2nd gear by grinding off every other engagement tooth on 2nd gear and every other spline only half way across on the 2nd gear side of the slider. This allowed keeping a...

Lessons to be learned about shipping USPS

Not exactly on subject but, years ago, I bought a NOS tail light panel for a 73 Dart Sport from a seller in Canada. When it arrived at my home in NC, the panel was sticking out both ends of a torn up cardboard box, all wrapped in a big plastic bag, with a note from CanadaPost stating that the...

    A Dose of Reality

And, something I have thought about for my use, I don't need 300 or 400 mile range. I probably haven't driven 100 miles in a day for years. So I don't need the expense or extra weight of that much battery capacity. Also, I have wondered about replaceable batteries where you could just pull in to...

    A Dose of Reality

Maybe they should put charging stations at restaurants and hotels. You could plug in and go inside for a good meal and plug in where you are staying and maybe avoid more convenience stops along the way.

    A Dose of Reality

Cool idea, but can you imagine what it would take to put in charging stations in every parking spot in the United States. I have a neighbor that works for a major electrical contractor. We have underground wiring in our neighborhood with some transformers in locked boxes spaced around. He...

Possibly the DUMBEST street sign ever!!!

I used to pick up full load (gross weight 80k lbs.) at Carolina Beverage on left. When leaving, you go by Kyle Busch Motorsports (building in center) to stop sign. If you choose to go straight across instead of turning left or right, about ¼ mile ahead is this bridge. No early warning. I saw...

Have any of you purchased from Deception Pass Motor Parts?

Looks legit from what I can find. Whitepages lists age as 80+.

Have any of you purchased from Deception Pass Motor Parts?

Risk $43 for something you're not sure about? And then the $90 NOS may be gone.

Possibly the DUMBEST street sign ever!!!

When I was driving 18 wheelers, lots of times I would turn down a road only to see a "No Trucks" sign about 100 feet or so from the corner. You wouldn't see it until you had already made the turn. Then watcha gonna do?

    "Next Victim"

I like those wheels. I wish someone offered accurate copies of the wide Halibrands. All I have seen are the ones where the spokes get wider as the wheel gets wider.

    Quality

I have a 2005 Ram. A lot of the dash is plastic and snaps together. But, those snaps just keep themselves pulled tight. It just passed 135,000 miles and there are NO rattles in the interior.

    Western auto memories

I remember seeing those modified bicycle forks. It looked like someone cut off the small end from the bicycle and because of the taper, just jammed on another pair over top of the them and bolted on the wheel. I had the standard Schwinn Stingray 5 speed with the Hurst looking shifter on the...

the new Dodge Charger Daytona Banshee electric vehicle.

It's on the front. Above what looks like a grille opening. Wonder why it has the Demon emblem on the side?

    Newer challenger's

I understand all of that. If I paid that much, I would want it to look different too, but only different from a car that I didn't think looked as good. I wouldn't care if it didn't have 700+ horsepower that I don't need. But if they all looked good, it wouldn't matter. Some would buy the V6...

    Newer challenger's

This is the very thing I don't like about American car marketing. In my opinion, with the Challenger, it is pretty much all about wheels, tires, and stance. A base Challenger looks very base. I don't want that. An R/T looks like in the middle just like it is. Then the SRT group looks top of the...

IIRC, the purpose of the longbox shape was because the individual tubes were all equal length but because distances from exhaust ports and routing, they ended at different parts of the collector.

Wild Willie Borsch famous for driving one handed in a AA/FA (Fuel Altered). When he switched to AA/FC, since he couldn't reach the side of the body, he had a fake gloved hand mounted in the left side window opening (seen below).
