383 440 swap. Same flywheel?
If you want a nice set of heads, I have these that Jim Laroy built and ported for me.[ATTACH][ATTACH]
Lucas Hot Rod is some good stuff.
Those numbers are nothing to be alarmed about. My 69 360 idles hot around 25 PSI. Running 10-30 syn blend.
Glad to help out. I thought he would. Rick is a good guy.
Man I just sold that kit not long ago.
[SOLD] - 73 & Up A,B,C,F,M,J-Body V8 to B/RB Conversion Kit
Did you have to box the front of the K-member? It is a tight fit without moving the engine further forward.
I don't have first hand experience with the Schumacher conversion mounts. We always had to make stuff fit. But I find it strange that those mounts...
I found the thread where I posted some pictures of this K-member.
[WANTED] - Engine Mounts to go on Spool type K-Member.
I have a spool mount K-member that has the mount stands modified for SB and BB. They unbolt and you turn them around to located the BB farther...
I had it done by a friend of mine at his machine shop many years ago. I think he charged me 200.00.
Not a 4.15 but I had a 400 block cut to the RB crank mains. Another way to skin a cat. Comes out to 451 cu.in.
If your going to zero deck with a piston/block decking than the 906 or 452 will work out.
906? 452? your choice since they are about the same thing. Since BB suffer from pistons being down in the hole at TDC compression always suffers....
Can't speak on the BB issue, But my 68 Barracuda has the complete RMS front suspension and with a 416 SB I used the TTI 340 step headers and the...
.005 to .010 is the excepted standard.
Are you sure yours is not a steel crank? I copied and posted my experience with drilled cast cranks. This I posted first on here in 2007.I...
Plumb the valve cover breathers to rear of the header collectors. They sell EVAC kits to accomplish this.
I run 10-30 and 10-40 Lucas Hot Rod in both my cars 360 and 416. No problems.
I always ran Aerospace Fuel pumps. They are local to me. On my drag cars, never had a problem.
I take it you don't have the cam card?
Except for some of the Stage VI heads, My P5249579 Max Wedge . The intake push rods were relocated, This is why you have to use .465 offset intake...
I had Jim and Cody Laroy prepare these Stage VI new castings for me. They are P5249579 Max Wedge Stage VI. This is the results.
Had a box stock 68 383 4 speed Roadrunner many moons ago that didn't loose many street races against cars you wouldn't think it could beat. Hell...
I wound up running a 3 core Champion radiator and a 16" electric fan on my 416 seems to do a good job. No mechanical fan, no room.
If the engine is in the building phase,I agree with oldkimmer. Install a 383 steel crank and damper. You already have the correct flywheel.
If you would read instead of randomly hitting the disagree button you may learn a thing or two. In post number #2, I suggested torquing it down to...
Either use the Harmonic balancer bolt or use the installer tool again and see if you can pull it on any more. Either way it is real close if not...
The harmonic bolt torques to 135 ft. lb. Torque it down and see if it pulls the balancer on any further.
