    Over-Axle Conversion?

I did it on a 70 Duster back when I was 16 years old. The car sat way to high in the back (there was like 4" between the top of the tire & the bottom of the wheel well) & the steering/handling sucked. I think you should wait to do it right or if you really need to do something, then buy a set...

    Buying a 1968 Charger

The only thing I'm missing on my 68 Charger is the turn signal lenses in the hood. Painted it 20 years ago...why did I wait? If you do part it out I'd be interested in those (even though I only seen the right one) Pretty uncommon to not have a rust hole in the corners of the rear...

Installing a 1972 A Body Manual steering box on 1973 Duster

All A-Body manual steering boxes are interchangeable and are small sector. The change in 73 on manual steering cars was the pitman arm, center link & idler. So... if your 73 has manual steering now, you need to put your pitman on the 72 box. If your 73 has power steering it has a large sector...

    Looking for Alignment Advice

Well Guys... I had my 73 Duster alignment re-done & you guys were right on the money. Yesterday I brought the Duster in & had them do it over with the specs that I thought I wanted, based on what I learned from you guys. I also asked what they had for preloaded specs in their rack...would you...

Just connect them together. The Ammeter is put in "Series" with the Black & Red wires.

    manual steering boxes

All of the A-body manual boxes are "small" sector & interchange. If you use a B-body/Truck/Van manual steering box that has a "large" sector...then you will need a 73 & up power steering pitman arm for an A-body. But don't use a "B" body manual box if you have headers. A large sector box will...

I do. But really I don't know what to expect even if I could get that much caster...so what does Mr.Ed suggest?

Looks like the Caster that I thought I wanted is gonna be tough to get. I'm guessing that I have to just take as much as I can get!

    Looking for Alignment Advice

I did some skimming through some previous threads. There's a bunch of good info already. Right now I'm at factory specs & it sucks, I think that the caster is not positive enough. It drives straight as an arrow on good roads & seems to corner well, but when on roads that are not flat (truck...

    Looking for Alignment Advice

I'm looking for some good sound advice on alignment specs for my 73 Duster. I keep the rear of the car slightly higher than the front & like some extra ground clearance in the front so I don't have as much chance to bang up my headers. I'm looking for the ground clearance, camber, caster...

Be care with advice & do your own research!

This spring I planned on rebuilding the front end on my 73 Duster (Manual Steering). I ordered a PST Kit, Addco sway bar, & Just Suspension torsion bars. The original manual steering box was shot, so I just planned to get it rebuilt locally for $190. I also needed a new pitman arm, but I noticed...

    manual steering conversion help

The only thing he needs is a pitman arm for a 73 & up A body. The manual boxes for all manual steering A-bodies are the same, the pitman arm is what changed.

I went for a 60 mile drive to a junk yard today...definately is C-body. I looked at a few old vans also, they had the same box.

    Steering Box Identification

The dirty box is out of a 73 Duster. The clean one is what I need help ID'ing. The spline on the clean box is a larger diameter. Notice that the filler plug is in a different location & the cover is a different shape & rotated.

    Manual Steering Pitman Arm Question

How come there are different part numbers for the pitman arm on a manual steering car? I'm rebuilding the front end on my 73 Duster right now. My steering box is loose & the pitman arm ball joint has some movement in it too. I thought maybe I'd use a box & pitman arm out of a manual steering 70...

    No spark at coil

Just like "superchargeddrt" II also think you have a gound somewhere. From what I've read here, it would have to be after the Ballast. Which is pretty much all the stuff you probably hate to work on. Any of the components after the ballast could be smoked & be providing a ground...but here are...
