They had 2 Chevy Square bodies, and a Chevy 4x4 van that's part of this 6 piece set, but I'm not partial to them.

    67/68/69 cuda dilemma

Just a quick mockup to see how it's going to look. I decided to buy new Elgin rocker arms and rocker shafts, instead of using the old parts. Want to start out with zero wear. I have a set of stock 69 valve covers I may use instead of the chrome proform ones. Trying to keep it looking stock. I...

    #4448308 heads have any potential?

What about pressing brass tubes into the pushrod holes , then grinding the bump out or pinch in the runners from the casting until you get to the brass. That would open them up.

    Show off your small block.

Good machine shops are hard to find. Only 2 left in my area. I have been friends w mine for over 25 years. Mark Samford over in Clyde Texas is extremely meticulous. And since I wasnt in a hurry, I left my block and rotating assembly with him. Payed a little at a time, and he would work on it...

    67/68/69 cuda dilemma

This part is done. Only thing left is the 200 inch lbs for the rocker shaft bolts. I converted this to to foot lbs' however, my ft lb torque wrench doesnt go down low enough. Gonna just borrow one.

    67/68/69 cuda dilemma

I removed the china wall gaskets front and back, and set the intake on with the fel pro gaskets, and threaded in 4 intake bolts by hand "no wrench". One at each corner. Then checked with a portable borescope I have that plugs into my phone. Everything lines up really good. I was just looking at...

    67/68/69 cuda dilemma

Second head is done. One of the things I did on these heads was remove the casting flash where the oil return is from the heads. I also removed the bump outs between the intake ports where the valve cover bolts fit, and opened up the pinch in each runner where the pushrod tubes are. I'm sure...

    68 Barracuda Notchback

If you decide to run subframe connectors, I'd like to suggest you re route your parking brake cable inboard of the connector. This is how I have done this on both of the A body notchback cudas I have. Pix are of my 69. You will have to drill holes inboard of the LH front framerail and between...

    67/68/69 cuda dilemma

Yeah I'm a bit of a slow poke. One head installed today. I'm really liking the ARP head bolt kit I picked up off Fabo for this engine project a few years ago. Really schweet fasteners. Gonna port match head #2 tomorrow morning and go ahead and install it. Then install the valvetrain and put the...

I am planning on grabbing another set of #302s at my boneyard next week.

302 heads-Is it worth putting them on a stock 318

The piston only has a finite amount of surface area to pull an Air Fuel mixture in. Piston diameter being 3.910" as opposed to a 340 which is 4.040" I think. Now on a 340 you would want to hog them out a bit since the piston has a larger piston surface area and will benefit more from this.

302 heads-Is it worth putting them on a stock 318

Dont have a flow bench. But on a 318 you dont want to hog them out or you decrease port velocity and hurt performance. Just transition them from a big port intake so theres no ridge and the air flows smoothly. I am using a Weiand Stealth #8022 which is pretty much an Edelbrock LD340 copy. I'm...

    67/68/69 cuda dilemma

Better pix. Now I need to do the other head. This was a good day though. I took a PDO day from my 8 day shift today to give myself some needed mental self care. Did a morning boneyard run, ate breakfast with a friend, and then started on my cylinder heads.

    67/68/69 cuda dilemma

I'm working on it lol. One port at a time. Amazing how tiny 318 ports are. All I'm doing is port matching these to the Weiand Stealth #8802 intake. I have to do minor trimming and grinding on it as well, but nothing like these #302 heads.

Another loss of a nice car

100mph passing cars looks like in the city limits by the pic. Holy crap. If she lives home with her parents and is under 18 or on their insurance, I'd bend them over and break it off in their asses.

    67/68/69 cuda dilemma

Indian head gasket shellac is all I use on these paper gaskets. It never fails either. My harmonic balancer installer worked perfectly. Very smooth and easy. Way better than a block of wood and a mini sledge.
