Another thing you will need to do if your engine has them, remove the guide pins from the front and rear China walls.
I just did what you should have done and checked the application. That manifold is for a LA engine and not a Magnum.
I have never used lemon or vinegar but it should work. I like to run a tag wire through all the passages to make sure they are clean.[ATTACH]
Hate to be a downer here but you didn't "overhaul" your carb. You should have checked the floats and adjusted them correctly according to the...
@krazykuda you are being paged.
Trim it. People spend hundreds to port match intakes and heads. Why leave a big gasket on there to fudge things up below the carb.
Carb kits have instructions, exploded views, illustrations, and charts to help you along. I always felt it was like putting together a model car....
Geez, what a scuzzy carburetor. It needs a overhaul and probably has a hole in the float. That makes it heavy and keeps the needle and seat open...
I haven't seen pictures but here's one of us that has one. I love my Fitech 2x4 1200 system
Take a look at the angle iron bracket bolted to the intake.
We all need to remember it worked well before. No need to change a bunch of stuff if it worked good before.
Power valve is very common on Holleys. One backfire and it's toast. The old floats can leak and fill with fuel which floods them. Float adjustment...
I don't think that 600 would be pig rich unless there is an issue with it. (power valve, float level, heavy float, shrunken metering block...
None that I have heard of. All the repop senders are built the same. An original rebuilt is the way to go. Hopefully someone will chime in who...
I thought that thermostat housing looked a little different.
You guys don't know what your'e missing. I had a Holley Pro-jection on one of my tool trucks. It was a 454 CHevy and the analog/non feedback set...
Ouch, Mike's list is very incomplete. I have a book that lists 62-74. If you need a number let me know.
I have seen stock pumps put out over 10#. Best to check and regulate to 5# or less.
You need to start a wanted thread. Make sure you have a carb number.
Here's my 66 manifold after machining. Without machining (or an adapter in your case) the secondary butterflies didn't open all the way.[ATTACH]
The secondary butterflies won't open without an adapter on many 273 intakes.
The A9 should be January 1969 built.
Sure wouldn't hurt.
I don't believe the acc pump on the AFB's is bathed in gas like the Holley's is. They are on the bottom of the float bowl. That's the reason why.
Carb overhaul is like a model car kit. If you can follow instructions and look at pictures you can do it. Those 2 barrels are pretty simple.
Must be a Holley then. What model?
PCV out of the back of the carb, Vacuum advance to the front port above the butterflies. (usually the left side) Power brakes to the rear port on...
Wrong tank or overload shocks. And no you don't turn them upside down!
