    Cuda Mike’s suggestion above to use white lithium grease on the mechanism side definitely did the trick if anyone is curious.

    What the deal with a Mazda ad blocking the screen, it comes up every time I open a thread? I’ve only been able to get gone once, it’s making this site useless.

    Looking at the photo in post #1 my bet is they are OK. When my IVR failed closed (12V continuous) my temp gauge took a hit. the needle ended up a 1/2" too far left. still worked but never got over the low normal line. the fuel gauge was not effected. probably low on fuel and a lot of resistance...

    Correct, PLUS the bevel in the wheel and on the 5 individual lug nuts locks the nuts in place. If I am not mistaken, the single large nut they use in the center has a flat contact surface. So they need to be directional in order not to back off.

    I’ll go get some this week and maybe put them in. The guy put most of the manifolds in trash bags and then tied them up. I assume that is how he has been storing them in his insulated but not temp controlled shop the past 11 years. I am going to have to start a “how to store all this ****”...
