A-body armrest - stripped threads in door’s sheet metal

Along the same lines, cut a slot above the hole and insert a U or J speednut of the appropriate size, threads behind the sheetmetal. Or if you don't want to cut a slot, just JBWeld a flat speednut to the back of the sheetmetal. Or, really cheap and easy- take a 2" piece of wire (doesn't have...

    Another 318 set up

Torque AT THE REAR WHEELS. It can be achieved in the engine build, in the rear end gears, and to a point with the torque convertor by altering the stall speed; most often a combination of all three- usually gears, TC, then engine; in that order. Think of the torquiest thing you can, let's say a...

    Soft pedal after conversion.

Pirate Jack offers several kits, so that doesn't help much; and if it's only "similar", what are the differences? It matters! No offense, but there are many junk kits out there that are just a hodgepodge of mismatched parts that were never designed to work together.

    Soft pedal after conversion.

Need a little more information on your conversion. SBP Kelsey-Hayes discs, '73 and up LBP discs, or some form of aftermarket system? What master cylinder was used (year, bore, original app., or aftermarket), or did you stay with the '65 single-pot master? Sounds to me like you may not have...

318 with 3.97 cylinder bore after clean up

Don't think it will run at all; if it does it's going to be noisy as heck and probably beat the pistons to death. A 318 with a 3.97 bore is already .060 over; and you're going to run standard pistons? Not sure what you mean by 6 cylinders being .003-.005 over, is that in addition to the .060...

Steps Prior to 340 Engine Install

Sounds like you're dropping it in from the top, so- Put the headers in the engine compartment before lowering the engine in. Mount the starter before bolting the headers up to the engine. And maybe leave the distributor out (or at least the cap) until the engine is in.

    Swapping 72 360 Truck Engine Into A 65 Slant A Body?

All the same stuff we already wrote out for you, plus a couple more odds and ends, like the oil pan/pickup/dipstick&tube as already mentioned. Any "short tailshaft" 727 is either out of a 4x4 or a motorhome and is no bueno for an A body swap.

    Dual ballast Ignition question.

Yup, you don't have to change a daid burned thing. A 4 pin ECU works just fine in a 5 pin system (but not vice-versa, as Cuda Al said)- the extra side of the ballast just becomes redundant, it's functions have been moved internally on the 4 pin ECU. I always leave the double ballast and wiring...

    intake swap performer loss?

One thought- way back when we dirt tracked (WAY way back), we had to cut a hole in the hood above the carb anyhow (so track crew could extinguish carb fires). If that is still the case for you, it could be a moot point- run the Stealth.

    intake swap performer loss?

With a 2 bbl. carb you probably won't notice any performance loss with the Performer manifold. MAYBE with the 2 bbl. manifold, but that depends on which manifold you have. It IS the 360 2 bbl. manifold, right? That isn't a half-bad intake- kind of like a 2 bbl. version of the factory 4 bbl...

340 stock manifold to header adapter question

Oh! I misunderstood what you want to do- you want to temporarily hook the system up to the manifolds for a test stand? In that case, you could use the type of ball flange that you referenced above, and just put an elbow on it to connect to the pipe/mufflers. But to use a ball flange on a...
