My 1971 booster is a Midland Ross unit. The one in your pic looks a little larger in diameter. I do not believe yours is correct for a '71.......But hey, I've been wrong before:)

I had a 1971 SB rad done in North Bay with a 3rd row added and IIRC, it was under $400 CDN.

I'm not really a bumperette guy either.....But I think I would leave them on if they were original to the car, and are in good shape.

Hi Folks My 1971 bucket seat tracks need to be refurbished. They work good, but are a little dirty and have a little surface rust. I would like to clean, paint and lube them before installation. Do they need to be disassembled to do this, or can they be done as a unit. Thanks FABO.

I always "stud" bolt holes in aluminum. Years ago I fought a thermostat leak in a brand new performer and had to Helicoil the threads after several rounds of torquing.

Any chance the strut rod isn't seated and tightening the pivot pin pulled it out of the bushing?

It's neat to see the passenger side valve cover. It has been said that the 1971 340's had the full wire cover on the Passenger side (as seen on the 1970 models). My 340, which I think is complete and original, has the same right side valve cover as yours. 1971 must have been the break year...

My 2 cents.......Ask the questions, but don't sweat it. They run these things so they don't have the problems in the car. When a dyno guys says it was running "hot" doesn't mean that it was necessarily overheating. I couldn't imagine a pro shop letting it run that long without shutting it...
