    Looking for nice floor mats

My cheapo rubber mats don't even have nubs on the back. I might try some double sided tape or grip mat on the back unless I get over paying $200+ for the ACC mats.

    Stock Market

I'm sitting on lots of cash right now too. Its tempting to get it in the market but everything I look at is so expensive and seems ripe for a butt kicking.

    What Is This Lift Called?

Yes a 2 or 4 post lift takes a big bite out of your floor space. My 4 post lift is 10 feet wide. Somedays I wish it wasn't there (or I had a bigger garage).

    Looking for nice floor mats

I bought some cheap rubber mats for my '70 Swinger last summer but they don't stay in place and look crappy. I see that Rockauto has the ACC mats for a reasonable price. Do these stay in place? Is there anything else to look at these days?

    What Is This Lift Called?

Prices of lifts are staggering at double what i paid in 2010.

    What Is This Lift Called?

I know it wasn't the question but I've wondered why people are interested in these. They aren't cheap (cost 2/3rds the price of a 2 post or 4 post lift) and have limited use. You can't store a car under it, work in the middle of the car, work underneath (at least easily) and how often do you...

    Cleaning Automotive Glass

I have used a 3000 grit liquid glass polish to clean but I think there are better ways.

My wife wife recommends MrClean eraser (dry) or microfibre towel.

    "Liquid Sandpaper"

Any painter who knows what they are doing will go over the car and look for issues before scuffing questionable areas and cleaning. I don't know what quality you are going for but it would be worthwhile to let them prime and block the car too.

    "Liquid Sandpaper"

I would just sand it...180 grit for primer and 400-600 grit for paint. The SEM TDS says its an adhesion promoter for plastics.

    NHL thread for '25-'26?

They are a hurting team Goaltending isn't great when defensive play sucks (I know...spoken like an old goalie :)). The problem is that a bunch of players are underperforming. Its a team issue but a couple players will pay the price and they will still suck defensively.

    Anyone use Mirka Polarshine polish?

I think it depends on what you are trying to do. Mirka is a good name. Personally I think 3 step systems are designed for selling lots of product :) I wet sanded 1500 (I only go that coarse to fix defects)/2000/3000 and polished a new base/clear paint job this summer that had orange peel and...

    Supporting engine with trans removed

Ditto. A support bar won't hurt and does give you some more room as you don't have anything in the way supporting the pan (don't wreck your paint) but is unnecessary in my opinion. I remember pulling my A833 4 speed back in the day with no floor jacks and the bare minimum of tools, laying on...

The bottlejack under the pan lets you lower the back of the engine easily.

Classic car people that make you CRAZY!??

There is a classic Porsche local that has been for sale for a long time....$60k. The ad says 'Right now there is a float sticking in one of the carbs. So it's flooding itself. And needs 2 new batteries.'. I see this all the time "just needs a little work'. We all know there is a lot more...

[WANTED] 67-72 A Body KH front disk LH lug studs

Do you change all four of your tires?

I live in the land of AWD vehicles. I know some shops will only do 4 tires. I have only ever done 2 at a time if one gets ruined and they are fairly new but have always replaced all 4 once they are worn. I wouldn't worry so much about summer tires but with winter tires I believe its more...

    Hydraulic jack fluid.

Did you try and push the stuck one back into the bore? As you probably found out when using air, the pistons can be little rockets if there are no blocks to stop them flying out the bores. This is the video I watched before rebuilding my calipers a few years back. I did find that air is not...

    Hydraulic jack fluid.

You have to block the pistons that move to stop them coming out of the bores while you work on the stuck piston.

    Hydraulic jack fluid.

It will be fine but you might have better luck with a grease gun. You just need threaded adaptors.

I'm confused about distributor advance specs. Also, dual point tech.

I've never read that. Generally, total advance without vacuum advance should be in the 35 degree range.

    A833 leaks

Got my 1/2 shift fork and Penngrade 80W90. Hopefully its an improvement. Note: the stub shaft? is shorter on the steel fork. Brewer's says that's how they come and they work fine. The name 'Liberty' is cast into it.
