I still use the original style alternator with the diodes and external regulator. Rebuilt by a local ($40) and no problem since.

My suregrip was a factory install. I didn't even know it was for years untill I went to change the oil and it even still had the suregrip tag on the cover bolt. And I'm still wondering how interchangeable the 71/4 maybe?

My 1967 Barracuda Fastback. I have had this car for approx 15yrs. Original paint on it when I bought it. (Red, I dont car much for red.) So its now Dark Iris Met. Pearl Coat. Original Factory 273, 904, 71/4 suregrip rear with 276 gears still equiped. With some small modifications. 8)

Yes, I agree to this same thing happen to me. Lower rad hose inner linning had seperated on reinstall and was blocking passage. Remove and inspect lower then upper rad hoses.
