Ended up welding the fuel pump housing in place.

Thanks JD, it's a tight fit, but it just does clear without touching the pump. Just got done with priming the housing, now I need to attach it. Plan was to weld the housing in place but I changed my mind and decided to latch or bolt it down so that servicing the pump or any of the hoses/fittings...

No flapper, I never saw one for either fuel filler tube.

Thanks for the comments guys, it's good to have a modern fuel door. Finding a donor car was difficult, all the bone yards want to sell the whole quarter panel that has the fuel door. Finally found one that was off a base model Challenger with a standard flip up fuel door that they didn't care so...

The Challenger fuel filler neck adapted perfectly to the Valiant's original fuel filler tube after a bit of surgery.

Used the last of my Tesa tape on the injector/coil harnesses and took some photos with the engine cover in place. Hiding the wires was worth the extra effort.

Thanks fellas, took a six pack before I had my square tube epiphany, used an old speedometer cable to snake the wires.

Here's some more photos, of what else? More wiring, of course! I've succeeded in cleaning out the rats nest and concealing the majority of the wires and can still remove/service the harness and connections. Can't say that I'd ever look forward to doing this again.
