How do you ensure that the gasoline that you purchase is the best quality?

You cannot insure anything about the crap at the pump other than buying 55 gals of fuel from a known reseller. Even the amount of chemicals we have to add to “stabilize” just to last 2-3 months. There are reports out on you tube that claim even octain is a lie here in the US. We pay more for...

    NGK plugs.

Rabbit hole: Oil filters- most newer have gone cheap. Some got better with technology. Perfect example is Fram. PH8A- now junk. NAPA gold 1515- same filter but so much better internally. I get the idea about spark plugs but why would manufactures put in a “fail safe?” Unless the piston hits the...

1970 hemi duster build hotrod magazine 2007

IMHO: better off sticking with what it came with. Contact the original electronics company and see what they will do for you. They may be very generous with help since that build helped put them on the map. You seem to have loads of paperwork to back up that build. It would be a shame to change...

    NGK plugs.

Maybe marine buys more so they get them cheaper? Or winter sale just to move them along. If they are genuine plugs those are very inexpensive. Boat people don’t mess around…. When on the water- you cannot walk home if you break down. I know I’ve bought “genuine Johnson” out board coils before...

    Duster Duck Tail

Sorry to add- on the pocket style there is a plastic cap and shoulder that goes with the screw. The shoulder goes under the screw head like a washer and the cap snaps on to cover the head. I believe those screws are small head than I advised above. As for fit and finish… 8 out of 10. Not bad...

    Duster Duck Tail

There are two styles- screw on (Direct connection made) or glass on (aftermarket fiberglass style) The screw on I can speak about as I’ve had them and plan on using one on my Demon when it’s completed. You use like a 3/4”-1” self drill self tap screw with a flat Phillips drive head. The head is...

QA1 Gerst Suspension 1967-76 Mopar A-Body Front Suspension Kit 52343-S40 made by Eastwood ?

Welcome Dustoff248. Above is correct, your car is a 67-76 abody. Not an early Abody 64-66 (or earlier). A lot of people here to help but we have some very well educated people as well. Check out the Welcome wagon section. That should help You navigate the site easier. Syleng1

    industrial slant 6

The main difference right off the bat is typically the camshaft is ground for a steady dedicated rpm. (What ever the machine that engine was designed for) and the distributor. Carb may be also a factor but being such a low horse power maybe not. It may or may not be drilled for power steering...

    Flywheel to crank bolt size

I just did ARP on a crank and flex plate/ TQ - same bolts for both on my application. They use a special grease not loc-tite. I spoke to the guy at ARP and he said “if you use their bolts, do not expect the same levels of confidence with loc-tite.” Now, does any one know why? Sorry Steve, didn’t...

Tear into it, or bolt in and go???

I always take the safe route and it ends up costing stupid money. I pull the cam out and find a nick in the bearing so apart the whole engine goes and $. “IF” you have the time- drop the pan and check how clean it is and replace the pan gasket. (Hardest gasket to replace in car.) Now if you do...

340 4 speed duster shifter handle?

Okay- but that’s we called them back in the day. All because the throw distance was shortened… we called them quarter stick or quarter throw. Never really measured them.

Spare tire wheel well on 1964 Plymouth Barracuda...what size 14 inch tire fits?

I believe I still have at least one 14" small bolt pattern from a 66' Formula S I stripped out about 3 years ago. Let me know if you would like it. Just pay shipping and to get the tire removed.... it's shredded.

    Best size steering wheel

Factory manual cars came with a school bus sized steering wheel in the 60’s. Narrow tires and full of air all help. Adjusting the caster takes some of the load off the pivot axis. That helps as well.

Spare tire wheel well on 1964 Plymouth Barracuda...what size 14 inch tire fits?

I know you asked for 14” but for those with a larger tires, I use a 15” tires on my 66’ Barracuda. I found a VW tire fits on a really narrow rim and stays below the trunk floor. My tires are 24.5” diameter.

Have you ever seen any Dart, Valiant, Demon or Duster with a rear window defroster?

My understanding is the factory style was the blower motor in the rear shelf. Aftermarket was the copper strips attached to the glass and run with electricity as a dealer add on. Typically aftermarket. Those are very rare and seldom work, customers did not need them due to the angle of the...

    Room for a Clutch-Fan in a '65?

Honestly I feel eekvon zippers pain. On the early set ups the slightest looseness of the fan belt and the dang thing squeals every excel. Mine had new pulleys and brand new proper sized belt. So I’m sure it’s not the 10hp. A few degrees of timing will make up for it. Overheating and squeal is...

    Uh Oh

    Room for a Clutch-Fan in a '65?

On my 66 273 and factory radiator I have a clutch fan. I turned down a fan spacer to like 5/8” thick and use a Dakota pick up truck clutch fan set up. It’s like 17” diameter and the shortest, bolt on clutch fan I could find. The fan sits 3/8”-1/2” away from the radiator and the factory shroud...

Does anyone like 4 door A body mopes?

4doors are great parts cars! They were not cool then and definitely not cool now. The only time they are better is with little ones. Car seats suck with 2 doors especially bench seats.
