    That’s not the full story. The kids did not want to take over the track when the parents got older. It was a staging yard for new cars for a while. Funny they spent all that money on going full on NHRA big events and then it died off. Cut my teeth at Englishtown.

    Chicken or egg debate now. The springs are shot and drooping. If you replace with even MP springs the *** end will go up just because of the new springs. Trying to predict the height based off old junk springs is like guessing how many worms are under the grass. Unless you have psychic powers...

    Just buy new springs assemblies and call it a day. Your bushings are dry and shot if all original. Regardless of low mileage. They have been holding up that car for 50 years.

    I’ve used a Oxy act torch with great results. Just remember to let it naturally cool on its own. No water. I also only took it to dark orange (the point when it will bend with a little arm strength) not bright orange. They start to stretch and loose their strength at that point. Syleng1

    I would ask for a different front suspension so the oil pan dumped in the rear. Mid sump or front sump on hard excelleration causes the oil to flow toward the back and not only starving bearings of oil but the weights of the crank now slinging oil everywhere.

    So those drums are re drilled. (Thank you capt obvious- lol)! But that top groove is for a spring Chevrolet used for cooling - now missing. I’d measure the bolt pattern because it looks like originally it was BBP MoPar or ford.
