I solved the aftermarket shifter throw clearance in the OEM console top shifter plate by raising the console until the Shifter had just enough clearance in the slot to go from 1st to park (even when my shifter is pulled down all the way when using the ratchet mechanism for quick 1-2 and 2-3 shifts)

Yep, that is an actual beach towel used in this application. I chose this due to the pattern and it is what I had readily available for this prototype. Thanks for the advice. Definitely important to keep in mind the materials used for longevity and ease of maintenance. Steve Z
