    Cast v Forged Crank

    The forged steel cranks are ok, just check the journals for taper and size, as I have seen a few that had to be reground. Eagle stuff is machined off-shore and sometimes they do have quality issues.

    There is about a 20 cfm difference between the chevy heads and the X/J mopars. The mopar heads fall off right after .500" lift and start backing up above .550" where the chevy heads (461, 041, 462) will not lose as much. The exhaust post are even worse on the mopar heads.

    To the original poster. The EQ heads are better than the original heads, although leave much to be desired.     head porting

    Take it from someone who ports heads for a living and stay away from flexible shafts. when that cutter digs in and that cable wraps up your gonna get hurt. The makita is a good grinder. Invest in a speed controller, you don't want to run full speed. Get a junk head to practice on. ss1489
