Early A-body Forum - Last call

As you may know, I decided to close the Early A-body Forum due to inactivity. It was however a very vibrant site at one point with TONS of good information. It's all available as a static downloadable html file, so download it if you wish to scan through it for information. Early A-Body Forum...

It wasn't an easy decision, I'm sorry. I used software I had a license for, and knew, but it wasn't very good. (Discusware) I did buy a UBB (Ultimate Bulletin Board) license once but never really got a round tuit.

Early A-body Forum is now closed

Thanks everyone (1700+ people) that had joined the site since 2001, but it fizzled out and nobody was using the site. I bet most of you reading this don't even know if existed! Your lack of interest made me lose interest as well and battling the software quirks, which went out of business a...

65 the good bad and ugly

Yeah your throttle linkage and probably kickdown linkage is all messed up. Hard parts to find in the correct original configuration, but not impossible. It should all look something like this.

1965 Barracuda - 4 yrs in the works

Why the big round grommets in the cowl? Did you drill holes to get in there and fix rust? Also, what parts are you missing? I have lots of stuff, I'd like to donate something to your project. Like maybe you need some trim? Or a taillight? Or headlight rings? Or missing some small piece...

How should i paint 65 barracuda grill?

I have successfully straightened the center grill sections, carefully in a vice and by hand. Just work it slowly. I also had one welded by a guy but he said to never bring it back as it was difficult. However, recently I discovered this product --> Pot Metal Repair Watch their...

    14" Tire info/advice

All great old information here. I have 205/70/14's on 5.5" rallyes on my '65 Barracuda but they are kinda skinny and tall. Next time I buy tires I am thinking 215/60/14 or 225/60/14 on the same 5.5" rallyes. Maybe the wider for the back as I have fast ratio manual steering (16:1). I have...

    Is it worth it?

The dash pad is no big deal as you can get a replacement or cover. Other interior is available too at a cost of course. 8 3/4 must have been added as they didn't usually come that way, not until '66 I'm pretty sure. Check to see if the bolt pattern on the rear matches the front. 4" or 4.5"...

    Guess what I found

I have heard very similar stories before coming from new cars. Seems to be a result of grumpy line workers or union workers before a strike.

    Guess what I found

I always keep a 1965 quarter in my ashtray for good luck. Canadian and American (because my car was born in the USA but now lives in Canada)

    1970 340 #247269 March 2 1970

I have a virgin 340 with spun bearings (needs rebuild) not rusty, always stored inside that I plan to put in my Barracuda....however I would part with it or trade if the car owner is out there and needs it. Built in Windsor, probably from a Duster or Dart. Casting on side 7-10-69 Front below...

No tach so it's not born a Formula S unless someone changed the dash, which is unlikely. But sway bars and resonators and all the S stuff was available as an option.

Thanks guys....thread on my van? Oh God that's another whole story too! I have a '65 A100, Tom now has a '66 A100 and another '65 window van he's putting a V8 in. I don't have the energy to document my van but it's a running project I guess you call it. Scooby doo green with Rallyes and a...

The Great White Brick - '69 Valiant

I will point Greg to this thread and hopefully he will update it sometime. It's his baby now. I'm emotional when I think of this car and the work Tom and I put into. It helped us become friends and taught me so much. It helped Tom get back into cars after a long hiatus and has now been a...

The Great White Brick - '69 Valiant

I personally sustained an accident on my Harley earlier this year in May. I was minding my own business and got hit by a car. I just about died. I got a broken neck and a badly broken leg. I was very close to becoming a quadraplegic. Anyway, 6 months later I'm doing better but still off...

The Great White Brick - '69 Valiant

I can't believe it's been so long. The Deviant got pushed aside. Tom and I both got involved in A100 vans which is great, but we neglected the car. After the paint job that went orange peel I think Tom lost his ambition on it. Anyway, somewhere along the line he decided to make it 100%...
