    rocker arm adjusment Plymouth

Adjust the intake as the exhaust valve is opening. The exhaust is adjusted as the intake is almost closed. I prefer to set 1/2 a turn after 0 lash. This should give .020" preload.

    Idle surge

The fuel is 94 octane pump gas. The fuel pressure drops to 5 psi when up to running temperature. I need to put a reg on it. I will also have to check for compression on the intake gasket. The heads are after market and the deck needed alot of straightening. They removed a fair bit of material...

    Idle surge

I pulled the intake. What I found was oil on the gasket between it and the aluminum head on both sides of the engine? I redid the lifter preload. The rockers are adjustable. I did not find anything out of the ordinary.I would like to know who uses the end gaskets on the intake and who uses...

    Ohio Crank Questions

Funny thing I heard about these guys on the weekend. A buddy purchased a Chevrolet block and components. He ended up with coolant leaking into the block due to the poor casting. Munched all 8 slugs and all the bearings. They would not do a thing for him! He eventually got a block, and nothing...

    Idle surge

My 340 has a surge at idle when it's hot. It will idle at 650 then jump about 100-150 rpm every 3-4 secs then fall back. Last night I noticed that when deccelerating and popping it into neutral the idle would drop to 1000-1100 and stay there for 20 secs or so. At that point it would idle down...

I need help w/ small pattern wheels

I have seen weldwheel products on early a bodies, but after researching, I haven't been able to find anything they have that would fit. Discontinued??? or perhaps they were 4.5" bolt circle.

    Low vacuum question

You do make a point, but has the block been decked? I would check the lifter preload just to be sure. I had this happen to me years back... it was frustrating.

    mopar performance electronic

I have a 340 10.7:1, crower stage 3 hydraulic cam, Edelbrock aluminum heads, 3.91 and 2500 converter. Question is should I need to mod the Mopar performance electronic setup? This unit has the orange box. The head specs state 34 total, but how soon? What should my vacuum advance be? The car is...

    Low vacuum question

Seeing as you cut the heads, I would investigate lifter preload if you are using non adjustable rockers. You may have to use some shim stock to get about.020" lifter preload. If this is incorrect, vacuum and low end performance will suffer.

    Anyone going to Shakopee

Hi, just wondering if there is anyone here going to the show in two weeks? I need to find a few 69 'cuda parts, so hopefully there's more this year. Last year was a great show. The people from Mopar Collector's giude were there.

    6 to 8 Cyl.

You will need a few items. Radiator, torsion bars, trans, driveshaft, rear end, brakes would be a good upgrade. B.t.w. you can buy motor mount kits to work with your existing k member.

Will 273 V8 adjustable rockers fit 360 heads?

You have to be careful with oiling on these. The 273's do not have the oiling groove cut into the rocker like the moper performance units do. I had some on a 340 and I did some damage due to minimal oiling. i had shafts with the banana grooves and this was not enough.

    cant smoke the skins...problem??

Torquehouse you nailed it. That cam has a great deal of duration at .050 which drops the cylinder pressure. I have to also wonder if lifter preload has ever been checked. If the block was decked or the heads cut this will be an issue.Any racer will tell you to tighten up the lash on a solid cam...

    Hooking up

The car is a 68 'cuda 340 rag. The frame is tied, I have adjustable drag shocks on order. The tire is MT drag radial 255/60/15. DOES ANYONE HAVE EXPERIENCE USING SPRING CLAMPS TO HELP THE HOOK? How many and where? I do not want to use ss spring for the height issue and cal tracs are too much...

    holley stumble

The engine is a new 340 rebuild 10.7:1 crower stage 3 hyd. cam, holley 3310 750 vac. sec. on an Edelbrock performer rpm airgap. The carb was purchased used. I broke in the motor with no issues. Timing 32 total btw. I noticed that when cruising at various speeds the car would hesitate on tip in ...

    235/60/15 Mt Drag Radial

I Would like to hear from anyone who has used this tire in the above size. The 'cuda needs a whole lotta help in the traction department. Current rubber is a 245/60/14 Cooper Cobra. Just goes to smoke when loud pedal is squished. The 340 is producing in the area of 400-420 hp at the crank. Trans...
