Sure one of the other few heads available would be easier but I think it's an excellent experiment seeing what's possible if someone had a specific need or desire to run a stock looking iron casting. Or if for example no other heads even existed for your engine. Hard work horse power.

Kinda off topic but what porting do they do to the heads? Interested to see since the original engine quest heads aren't available anymore.

Was an eye opener for me. I'm gathering parts for a 3.79 stroke 360 build. have an rpm airgap manifold I was going to use but will think on it some more now.

Thanks Cookietruck I figure there can't be too many different foundries making them. That's a good idea re the promaxx ones, might be a good deal if it's all quality usa finishing work on the castings.

You're right about how things can quickly add up. I probably can reuse a lot of the parts from my original heads.

Thank you for the reply. I figured they'd be nothing special but trying to determine if they are any worse than the China engine quest/ jegs/promaxx/speedmaster etc. Sounds like they're all about the same.

Has anyone on here used the enginetech brand replacement magnum heads EHCR318-1 I can get a pair bare quite cheap but not sure if they are worth the effort to make them work or buy complete assembled heads. Just for a stockish rebuild with a mild cam.

I'm looking at starting on a 3.79 stroke build with trickflow 190 heads based around a 5.9 magnum block 500hp +. Wanting to hear from people running the factory type hydraulic roller lifters.. what rpm are they reliable to?
