Slant 6 head interchange: 1975 head on 1969 Block?

Thanks Everyone, I think for the price it's a good deal to get me up and running. Right now even with the bad head she runs, five cylinders.... but, I drove it 200 miles to my brother's garage to work on it, didn't run that bad.

Slant 6 head interchange: 1975 head on 1969 Block?

Hey, I bought a 1969 Valiant and the 225 head is junk, cracked and burnt valves. I found a 1975-78 225 Head casting #3698447 on Ebay rebuilt with valves from a business for $210 shipped. The guy at the shop selling it said I need to check to see it it will fit my block. He said my engine...

    69 Valiant cyl4 not firing?

Sorry, not for sale! I just got it. Like I said before it is absolutey rust free and covered in oil. Even the outside of the lower body is coated, the fenders and doors look awful dark and dirty from all the oil. The previous owner used a garden pump sprayer to repeatedly coat the car with...

    69 Valiant cyl4 not firing?

Ok, that sounds like a good thing to do. I think I can get a compression tool from one of the auto stores. You know the guy that sold the car did say the damper is rusted in the exhaust manifold. How does this cause a problem? Thanks, Jeff

Rims for 69 Valiant 100 Options?

Yes, I understand about the width of the rim and 3" backspace is what I meant by offset. My confusion is on the 5 lug bolt pattern and it seems I have 5x4" pattern not 5x4.5" like most MOPAR cars. Thanks,

    69 Valiant cyl4 not firing?

Yup, that does make sense. I wonder why the guy selling the car didn't try it? Hmmm? Worse case I may have to rebuild the head or engine right? Thanks,

Rims for 69 Valiant 100 Options?

Hey, thanks. I thought my 13" rims were a 5 lug 4.25" pattern, but say it's 4" I'm just starting out on this car. I have had an older car since high school (30yrs). Stay tuned... I will be working on this car all summer.

Rims for 69 Valiant 100 Options?

Hi, I'm new, I bought a 69 Valiant 100 with 13" original rims. What are my options for changing them. I found a set of Cragar SS rims they are 14" x6" and 14" x8" with 3" offset. I don't know how to tell if these 14" rims will fit the car and not rub inside and top? Does anyone know what the...

    69 Valiant cyl4 not firing?

Hi, I am new, I bought a 69 Valiant 100, 225 six. It runs on 5 cyl. Cylinder 4 does not fire, could this be cam, burned valves, rings? I paid $500 for car. 82K on it original, car was garaged and is rust free. Owner crazy about oiling the whole car.... it drips. No Rust anywhere, so I figured...
