I recently had my 1972 Duster 340 engine rebuilt to factory specs,except a little hotter cam was installed..The manual calls for Champs N9Y plugs,however I would like to try NGK plugs..What NGK plug would work good for this application..The gas nowadays is crappy,so I wasn't sure if I should go...

I quess I'm a bit partial on that question,the GTS of course..as I have one..a 68 GTS 340 4sp..

no..you could have a 727 or 904..it was a option..i'm the second owner of the car..have the broadcast sheet and fender tag..all matching car..bought the car in 1974 with only 13,000 miles on it..D34 on tag is 904..

My original 72 Duster 340..904 tranny..right from factory 3168 lbs..

Don't know about the 383..but there were 1281 4sp.68 GTS 340's made..

When I was a kid of 20 years old,the 340 was beating everything on the street in this city..my vote..naturally..the 340..

I have a 72 duster 340..is there a mini-starter that would fit instead of the bigger orignal starter..I think someone had mentioned to me that a starter out of a dakota truck would work..not sure..Thanks.

Yes..that's correct,but sometimes you hear someone elses suggestions,you tend to second quess your methods..good to get opinions and learn from there..and yes I always unhook the + and - posts..I too couldn't understand why there would be a engine condensation problem in a heated garage either..

Thanks for the reply..yes,he did mention about adding a can of C Foam..or something like that.. to the gas for winter before I parked the car,I put the highest octane gas in,about a half a tank..which is 94 Chevron here in B.C.
