    [WANTED] Vacuum gauge

Either way - it is now installed, looks a lot better than the blank, I'm happy.

    Performance indicator help

Attacked it with a drill - gave it a hard time - now it works. Needed a hole drilled through the screw/bolt that someone got in there. Gauge works and holds the vacuum with no leaks..........go figure.

    Performance indicator help

Thanks - I didn't think that it was right with the screw in there - made no sense, especially with the previous owner saying "but it was working when I had it". I'll try drill it out (won't move with screw driver) If it still don't work, buy another

    Performance indicator help

I've tapped it, drowned it in Silicon spray to try lube it - I physically can't see how the gauge even gets the vacuum to be registered

    Performance indicator help

Gidday people, I have a 69 Barracuda & it currently has a blank in the dash, so I have bought a Performance Indicator to fill it. After I had it delivered from USA to Australia I checked it by sucking on the hose connector & the gauge didn't move. I then tried it on the intake manifold (car...

    Show That Lowered A-body!

Without getting into big details - the E38 had a 3 speed manual & no power assist on the brakes, the E49 had a 4 speed & power brakes. There was about 30hp more out of the 265 Hemi 6 in the E49 as well. The E38 was the first attempt, then they fixed it with the E49 the next year.:burnout:

Help! 72 duster 318 Wont pass emissions!

When my brothers car had to do one of these, we ended up leaning out the idle system to a point where it barely ran and they were happy with that - go figure. It was a Holley carb, depending on how they do it where you are - get a smaller carb, little jets, make it run a bit lean - should be good.

    what causes this to happen

Maybe your carb has a low leak and the fuel is draining itself out. Here is AUS it gets quite hot and I can have my car sitting for a long time without pumping the buggery out of it to make it start. I also have no choke connected - threw that away, waste of space. Also check that your primer...

    Sway Bar info please

I have a 1969 Barracuda & it has no sway bars on it - handles bit like a boat really - what I need to know is this, being in Australia & most places here not knowing what I have - do the other A body sway bars fit eg Dart - we have basically the same car here in Aus (Valiant Pacer). Any ifo...

Expected idle with a Purple Cam

I'd be checking for air leaks, if you have one your idle will be quite high. My 383 with Purple cam has a nice low idle - when it had an air leak at the booster it was up around 1400rpm. Timing marks - I printed off a protractor off the net and used it to mark the harmonic in various positions.

Holley 750 what to look for?

I think you mean Watch out. inspect the carb to see if the shafts have much movement (sideways). If they do, pass on it as it is worn out and air will leak through causing you tuning problems.

    275/40/17 on a 17x8? is it okay?

Thought the side walls would be on more of a angle with a 275 on a 8. Pic looks more like what I'd expect the 245 to look like. Main problem with oversize tyres on little rims is you get alot of tyre roll - the car would handle very poorly if you went to far.

9th Anniversary of my Sister passing, Wife not happy

I've NEVER bought flowers for my other half, waste of $$$. My misses knows there is no point asking me for them now. We don't do anything special on Feb 14 & we don't have a reasonable excuse like you do.

5.7 Hemi injected or carbed or 383 carbed?

If the 383 is ready to go then I'd use it. Changing to injection has the costs of computers, alot of wiring, fuel pumps, better fuel lines & filters, new extractors and the list goes on

What Mopar Option Burns a Memory in Your Brain the Most?

The things I most remember - here in AUS - my dads RT E38 Charger, its tripple webber induction on the 265 hemi 6 that was faster than the V8's of its time & the 36 gal fuel tank that took up the whole boot - ex factory.
