    [WANTED] 1966 Plymouth Valiant Wheels/Tires

That probably carried through the 1966 model year, not sure. Maybe a 66 V-8 car got 14" but again only 4-1/2" wide. Also a disc brake option got 14" eheels to clear the calipers. The biggest factory SBP wheel was 14" x 5-1/2", Formula S, GTS, HD suspension, Rallye wheels, etc. There never was...

    [WANTED] 1966 Plymouth Valiant Wheels/Tires

I believe the theory was the wheel rotation would keep the nuts tight. Chrysler used them up to 1971, then all right hand. GM dropped the lefts much earlier. You can change the studs to right hand & make lug nut selection simpler. Especially if you switch to mags. SpeedyEd

Vacumn advance can adjustment screw, info please.

If you can't use the old vac. advance, try the Crane 99619-1 vac timing limiting plate. It was made for the Delco dist. but it should fit. I have a rebuilt vac unit that was rebuilt but the diaphragm wouldn't seal. But I can't locate it to verify the fit. You could make a stop held by the...

When I put a Hurst Syncro/Lock three speed shifter in my '66 (273 with 3 on the tree at the time), I had to build a tunnel to cover it. With the floor mat rolled back & no insulation there was gear whine that I never heard before. Checking the shop manual I discovered the Mopar approved lube...

A few questions about your vibration problem. Are you using the original bellhousing? If not did you dial indicate it to the block? (centering it to the crank). Does the vibration get better if you step on the clutch & allow it to come back up? Which pilot bearing are you using? SpeedyEd

    Wrong Pivot?

A word of warning, the Mopar clutch pivot failed in my '66 Valiant with '71 Demon 340 Engine & 4 speed after I switched to a Lakewood bell housing. It overhangs the mounting pad & is not supported. I replaced it with one made from 5/16 angle iron. Otherwise extend the mounting pad. SpeedyEd

    Coil Over vs Torsion Bar

Signetroar, Back in the '70's I modded a set of Appliance headers for a '67 A-body to fit my '66 Valiant. It required two redirected pipes on the drivers side to go around the steering box & two pipes on the passenger side to clear the idler arm. At that time I couldn't find under chassis...
