Think I'm going to get in the trunk and adjust it and re adjust after it settles some

Ok I have a 69 fastback. Had the body apart for paint. Installed the trunk lid and adjusted it without the trunk seal. Installed a new seal and the trunk does not want to close. I'm afraid if I take more adjustment out that it will look like crap. Anyone have this issue?
