The $1000 budget isn't super strict just generalized prob actually swing $1500 to $1800 for the rebuild. Got really lucky with the engine only 53,000 miles on it (original to the car). It had nil on the out of round on the cylinders. Got to buy new vlaves, already have the bearings, and ordering...

Sorry been workin alot of O.T. The 360 heads getting machined as is the block going with the KB 167 pistons for sure now. Should get the compression up about 9.2 if I did the math right.

After some thought I'm gonna save the cash and get the 360 heads done and the KB 167 piston set thanks guys. :D

So mguner you dont think there would be a problem running the 360 heads on the stock bottom end with a mild cam?

If the cash flow allowed it I have a Magnum 360 complete setting in the shed. Pulled out of my truck about 4 years ago.

So how about the stock heads the KB zero deck pistons and the summit or equivalent cam.

Trust me if I had the cash right now I'd drop a blower on it with the 360 heads. Think if Mad Max drove a Dodge. :)

It'll have a 904 hooked behind it. I know as a general rule avoid dome pistons at all cost but figured with the low compression these engines had to start with wouldn't hurt.

Got to cleaning up the 360 heads and I'm afraid one intake valve seat is to far gone. Must have had water setting against it.

The '73 block is in really good shape only had 58,000 miles on it.

Alright so the 360 heads on the 73' short block, with the 4 barrel intake and the 500 Holley, and this cam www.summitracing.com/parts/sum-k50052. Sound good?

I also have 3 carbs to choose from, a 4 barrel Quadrajet, the 2 barrel Carter, or a 500 Holley 2 barrel.

I like the idea of the 360 heads on the 73 block, but won't that trash my compression?

Power on a budget I guess is the goal. The heads on the original engine according to the number are 273/318 heads not sure what that means. Fairly new to mopar sorry.
