If when cold you get the shot of gas in the carb, Make sure you have 12 volts in the crank position on the coil. it'll be less in the run position. You could run a 12volt jumper from battery to positive side of coil to see if that is the problem. If starts right up trouble shoot wiring problem...

I just ordered a belt for my PS and it is coming from Texas, so almost a week away. Ordered on 4/13 and due 4/18 or the 19th. Their not sure when it'll get here. I might not have ordered it if I knew it was a week away coming from TX. The other bad part was no local parts store had it.

340's never had a front distributor, always in the rear. Using the oil pump tool to drive the pump engine has to rotate to open up the galleries on the camshaft bearings that distribute oil to rocker arms.

They look better than the more common plate locking cable in. Where are they sold and do you really have to solder cable in, because with the taper on the male part it looks like it will hold the cable. Soldering the cable in would probably wind-up having solder on the threads of the male portion.
