I hope everyone had a nice Christmas. Just wanted to thank you guys for your response to my post. I took the information to the shop and they ordered the seal. Can’t wait to see what the car drives like with a fresh trans that doesn’t slip when it shifts into 3rd. Have a safe and happy new year!
John,
I’m back. I caught that norovirus last week. Don’t wish that on anyone! I went to my machine shop this morning to get casting #’s and they were closed. They are open tomorrow so I will be able to get them. What day are you headed to Patterson?
I have my ‘65 barracuda in the shop having its 904 rebuilt. The shop is telling me that it has a “one year only “ rear output shaft seal. Has anyone heard of this? If so does anyone know the part# for it?
One thing I ran into with the 302 heads was the air injection on the #7 cylinder hitting the exhaust manifold. I rebuilt a 1987 318 for my ‘65 barracuda thinking it was a direct bolt in. When I started it I realized that the air injection boss was hitting the exhaust manifold where it returned...
I will have to check out the TTI ones first. If not it will be fab time. Im looking i to putting the holley reproduction 6 pack on it. Im thinking i can sell the fuel injection and recoupe some of the cost.
Thats kind of what i was thinking has to be done. How bad were the engine mounts to fabricate? Im afraid my little barracuda wont lnow what to do with the new found horsepower.
Not to change the subject but, what about getting exhaust out around everything. Once we get the transmission figured out the exhaust system needs to be snaked through. Anyone at that point yet?
