I just did this on my 04. Just removed the ground wire from the battery and kept ground clamp as close possible. Also put a set of headers on while I was in there using remflex gaskets. Worked out perfectly.

I have a few roads near me that I can let it all hang out. They are straight and smooth with no driveways. If any cars are in sight I just cruise on down the road. I have good brakes and new suspension. Turns are not an option for me with the pizza cutters on the front. Have fun . Be safe.
