'67 Valiant 2 door sedan - Rear glass gasket cross section or source of replacement

Howdy folks, I'm looking for a rear window gasket for my '67 Valiant 2 door sedan. The rear glass is not the same as a Dart, or a hardtop model. I've tried all the usual suspects, Auto City, Just Mopar, Laytons, etc.. no luck. If I could come up with a dimensioned cross section, I might be able...

'67 Valiant 2 door sedan for Drag n Drive

It's been quite a while since I've posted anything... between work and trying to keep up with all the various projects, I barely have time to read posts, let alone make my own. But anyway, here's the story and the situation. You're welcome to follow along as the build continues. Required Warning...

What fits a 67 Valiant for Hood and deck lid?

Howdy! Been a while since I was here... but I know for sure the folks in here are the most knowledgeable A-body people around, so here goes. I'm building a '67 Valiant 2 door sedan for drag 'n drive type events. The car has been back halved, has a 4 Link from S&W and a Gerst front suspension...

    Turbine Bronze

I'm trying to make up my mind on the color for my 67 Valiant race car. (2 door post) I'd like to keep it a MOPAR color from the era, and I'm kinda partial to Turbine Bronze. I have also considered Butterscotch. Does anyone have a photo of a similar A body in either one of those colors? I'm open...

    Back in the day

I saw this and had to share it... anyone who's over 50 will understand! Checking out at the store, the young cashier suggested to the much older lady that she should bring her own grocery bags, because plastic bags are not good for the environment. The woman apologized to the young girl and...

Looking for ideas - configure tow van for race car hauling

I just acquired a decent 2006 3/4 ton Chevy van that I plan to use to pull my car to and from the track with, as well as use as an occasional camper for my annual trips to Bonneville. I plan to fit a small portable generator, air compressor, and a modest toolbox. In addition, I will need to...

    Tapping into the collective braintrust

This is a weird question, but it's something that's been bugging me for a week or so. Back in the 1960's (I was a little kid) my uncle would come to visit every summer. And every summer he would have a new car. He drove a lot of MOPAR's, but not exclusively. He did not drive anything that wasn't...

Keep it stock, or make it your own?

I have only been a member of this forum for a little over a year, but I've noticed that there seems to be more "keep it all stock, all original" guys here than in other forums I participate in. (Except for maybe the Corvette forum, there are some seriously fanatical "keep it stock" guys over...

[WANTED] 1971 Dodge Monaco 2 dr hardtop

This is a longshot, I know... but I am looking for a well restored or very well cared for 71 Monaco 2 door. Note, it MUST be a 71, MUST be a Monaco, and MUST be a 2 door hardtop. Not picky about color or options, as I know there won't be much to choose from. I don't want a project car, I have...

    The Metric System

I was reading another post about how we prefer to use cubic inches to describe our motors (me included) and it got me thinking... I was born in the 50's, and I grew up in Canada. When I was in grade school, we used feet, miles, pounds, cubic inches, degrees Fahrenheit, etc. So that's what I...

Picking a color for the 67 Valiant race car

OK FABO, I need some opinions. Building a '67 Valiant 2 door post to go drag racing with, and maybe take in the occasional cruise night. NOT a "show car". The car will be back halfed, tubbed, narrowed Moser 9", M/T drag radials, full cage, etc. It's 85% for the track, and 15% for street fun. No...

    Funny memory

A thread in another section reminded me of this funny story... When I was about 18, I had a part time job in a family run auto parts store. One day a fellow came in, and asked me if we had a radio antenna that would fit his 1968 Fury "One Eleven". I still chuckle over that one. Garry

[WANTED] 1967 Valiant Drivers side rear door

As the title says, I need a drivers side rear door to cut up and use as a patch panel. If the bottom of the door is rusted out, no problem! I need the middle section with the style line in it. I'm in Mesa AZ. Thanks, Garry

    What would you do?

Okay... the rear floor and inner fenderwells are getting cut out for my backhalf kit soon... thereby providing lots of easy access to the back side of most of the sheetmetal, so I thought it would be a good time to do some badly needed bodywork. In the attached photo you can see the result of...

[WANTED] Needed - 1967 Valiant 2-door post drivers side rear quarter

I'm looking for the front section (between door and rear wheel opening) drivers side quarter panel for my '67 Valiant 2 door sedan. The usual sheetmetal sources have Dart metal but not Valiant, and the body lines are very different. I think it would be easier to weld in a new section than trying...

1967 Valiant / Dart interchangeable quarter panels?

Does the Dart use the same quarter panel sheetmetal as the Valiant? I can find replacement quarters and skins for a Dart, (AMD number 710-2067-L) but not for a Valiant. Is there a difference, and if so what is it?

    Back half regrets?

I'm interested in hearing from anyone who has back-halfed an A-Body and later regretted it, and why. I'm leaning strongly in that direction right now, (complete kit from S&W) but before I fire up the plasma cutter, I figured I'd ask those who have done it. Any regrets? Thanks, Garry

[WANTED] RH Quarter glass for 67 Valiant 2 Dr sedan

I need a right hand quarter window for my 1967 Valiant 2 door sedan. (Dart hardtop glass won't fit) It was my sons first attempt at removing glass by himself... He removed it all right. LOL. The existing glass is clear, but beggars cant be choosers. I can always tint it. Thanks, Garry Mesa AZ.

    1967 Valiant Quarter window glass

I'm looking for a source for the passenger side quarter window for my 67 Valiant 2 door sedan. I've checked the usual sources, (Dante's, AMD, justmopar, etc) and nobody has the glass for the 2 door sedans, just the hardtop Darts. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance, Garry

    AlterKtion versus Gerst front suspensions

I will be installing a new front suspension on my '67 Valiant, and I think I've narrowed the choices down to the Reilly AlterKtion or the Gerst GTS setups. My car is being built as a street/strip car, with no plans to autocross or road race it. Just decent street handling, like a modern car is...

    [SOLD] Drivetrain from 1967 Valiant

I'm selling the entire drivetrain and most of the interior from my '67 Valiant. The 225 slant six engine, clutch and 4 speed trans are out and ready to be picked up. Soon I'll also be selling the entire front and rear suspensions, and the complete rear axle. Other misc items like the master...

1967 Valiant 2 door post needs all new glass seals and weatherstrip

I'm trying to find reliable sources for new weatherstripping and front/back glass seals for my '67 Valiant. The car is going to be blasted to bare metal so everything currently there will be gone, and it's all shot anyway. The '67 seems to use different windshield and rear glass seals than a 68...

Motor plate & mid plate... any photos?

Is anyone running a B/RB motor with front and mid plates in a 67 or later A body? If so, who made them? I see Mancini and Competition Engineering both have something for this application. Curious on fitment and potential issues with timing cover, etc. How was the installation? How bad are the...

Need some advice on choosing an engine

Okay, I am just in the planning stages of this build, so nothing is etched in stone. This will be my first...

    Looking for good parts sources

Hi, I'm new here... this is my first MOPAR build in 25 years. My last one was a 70 Cuda that went to a good home when it became worth as much as my house. This time, I'm doing a 67 Valiant base. The car is rough, and needs a lot of TLC. I'm going to need exterior trim parts like window...
