ok... i "*** U ME D" since I cranked on the car ignition for a few days, then removed the battery and reinstalled battery and the key did not crank the car - it wasn't the seat belt interlock "because it worked for a few days in a row and ONLY removed and then reinstalled battery" that wasn't...

It does "crank" with screw driver at relay... thats how i checked the distributor to make sure pick up was ok also already have multimeter and test light... thats how i checked to make sure ballast was ok olso gonna try the jumper at ballast ty

**UPDATE TO UPDATE** I forgot to say the BIG part of the update 9 LBS 7 OZ

when I turn the key on... the voltage indicator on the dash - goes down... when i turn it to the start position it goes back up a little bit but kinda bounces... not sure if that helps

even when it did turn over by the key i did not have fire, removed and reinstalled battery and now the key dont work yet jumping across the relay it turns over but yet still no fire

YES IT IS.... it is not hooked up on the inside... and it turned over by the key(many many times) before removing battery, now it don't... so didn't think that was a problem, but really dont know

just guessing(from a person of integrity).... I think what he is saying is if the charge is 3% then be honest and say 3% and if they really want 4%... say that another 1% would be for ??(whatever the honest answer the other 1% is going for) instead of grouping the 3% and 1% into them same...

the dis the distributor DOES connect to the coil - through the COIL WIRE - isn't that where the distributor get the "fire" from the coil????

if left hooked up... wire from battery to positive side of coil... wouldnt the coil keep trying to send "power" to the distributor? ... only asking because I absolutely have no clue and you have knowledge ty

yes I saw where it burn up coil, but said distributor also... i have checked coil, it is still good, but have not checked distributor as nephew was/is not smart enough to take the bolts out, out alone completely remove it

In all my many hours of research last night... I am going to check out the distributor... when nephew drove it away(went 8 blocks and parked it) it was on gas can and hot wired to coil from battery... he might not of unhooked it... saw where if that is left attached for more than 15 minutes...

I asked my brother... he said he has GM hei module and will bring it over tomorrow... ok see if I got this right(wiring part).... battery negative to motor ground... battery hot to starter... Battery hot to toggle switch to solenoid... battery hot to GM module that goes to the distributors both...

I get very frustrated with my lack of knowledge. I didn't want to spill it all out as it is a VERY VERY long story.... I just wanted to know how to start a car when the motor is not in the car(what needs wired up and how), I should have said just that and nothing more, knowing how to do that...

tested(from info collected from here) dual ballast resistor - ok not sure how to do that... unhook distributor wire at the connection, got it, there is two wires to it yup... which side do i put red cable from tester into and which one do i put the black wire from tester into... what position on...

ok i looked up the gm hei module... does this just make it easier than using the one in my dart? or can I use the one in my dart or another one I have laying around?
