This is a good call. The mating surface looked clean from what I could see from beneath/behind the front wheel with a spot light.

I picked up some permatex black gasket sealer, coated the gasket and gave it another go. It’s still absolutely pissing oil. I noticed that the plate may be damaged…not only is the mating surface a bit wavy, it appears to be lopsided. Does this look wrong?

I can’t quite see the casting info with the headers on. I wish I took a picture before I put it in the car. If necessary, I’ll unbolt the driver’s side and take a look. I do know that the block is a Magnum 5.9.

They look good to me…but it also looks like the OD on those 315s is only 25.7” (give or take). The performance tires seem to max out at this diameter which is too short for most of us. This is the main reason I gave up on my 17s. What’s your final drive ratio?

I painted the Rota RKRs. The original charcoal finish was what I wanted six years ago but after looking at them for so long, it was time to change them up. No regrets so far. Before anyone asks, the rears are 15x8 0 offset and the fronts are custom and not available off the shelf.

This is why God made hammers. :D Don't be shy and give them a whack for clearance. Definitely touch them up with some high temp paint incase the header's coating cracked in that spot. Evidently, unless you're really crushing the tube, performance isn't measurably affected by dings and dents...

I hope they work out for you. Please keep us posted. It appears that they are way out of production so be careful. As you probably know, tires do weaken/fail with age. They could be fine but generally speaking, tires are done at the ~10 year mark regardless of wear. Just a rule of thumb...

I realize that this post is several years old now...but what are those Dunlops? I suspect they're ancient but they look like a performance oriented tire in our kind of aspect ratio with raised white letters and a modern tread pattern. I would gladly try out if they were still available...
