I took a peek to Minnesota yesterday: I have a tractor mounted snow blower in the shed there. It can stay in the shed as I am in Florida for the Winter. 70° this late evening here in Palm Bay. Was a 10 year plan to get a place down here, glad I did it. Had this place for 12 years now and...

    Air ride suspension.

I actually have the add on Air Bags on the rear leafs of my 2000 Full Size Ford Van towing vehicle. Got something with a little extra tounge weight or maybe something heavy in the back of the van? Just add 25 to 40 psi in the air bags to bring things back up to level. And they are independent...

    Cleaning Automotive Glass

Kind of sounds like you have a grease film left behind. How did you install the window and rubber seal, WD-40, go-jo hand cleaner, Dawn Dishsoap, silicone spray? We used to install Peterbilt windshields and the rubber zipper lock with Go-Joe hand cleaner. That left a nasty film behind. We...

Extremely Dissapointed in my TTI exhaust and headers maybe someone can help with my fitment issues and provide some guidance

Here is a picture of a 2 1/2" TTI layout on a '72 Duster 318 stock manifolds and a 904 transmission and 8 3/4 rear end, exhaust out the back. May help to get a look how it looks installed under there. Owner is a mechanic and installed himself, no special modifications needed. TTI had a...

15" x 8" 225 70R15 Tires Like the 70 series foot print. Was really hard to find aluminum wheels to fit the large Bolt Pattern (5") and large center register hubs on the '89 Truck. They were Ford Truck aluminum wheels with the correct bolt pattern, but had to open up the center hole with an...

    Car cover

1 1/4" galvanized steel tubing frame supported off the side of an 18' enclosed trailer. 10' x 12' tarp keeps the midday sun off, and the trailer side keeps the late afternoon sun off. Setup so that it will drain rain off the right side of the overhead tarp. Just yesterday added a 12' pipe...

Here we are again, too much cam for the desired situation. Trying to compensate for the mismatch by adding timing. Now that is bringing on new problems of its own. ☆☆☆☆☆

    RPM drop and electric fans!

Here is a neat trick, turn your key on then go put a snap-on wrench on the Alternator pulley. If the wrench sticks to the pulley (magnetically charged) then you know the Alternator fields are energized before you even start the engine. Showing you the battery had no reserve and is lame and needs...

When good is not enough, Camshaft time again.

Have had them where you have to wind in the cam with Lucas engine assembly lube. When the lube starts turning gray and cam is getting tight. Back it out, wipe off the gray, relube and go again. By hand, no power tools > so you can feel what is going on. The cam bearings are soft, so they...

Steering column gets hot from engine bay heat (headers) - solutions?

Manifolds and 2 1/2" exhaust system send the heat out the back. Headers dump heat into the engine bay and it needs a way out. Heat rises, possibly up an open run steering column? Name your poison by the desired results you wish to achieve. Manifolds ^ to 2 1/2" Exhaust, out the back. ☆☆☆☆☆

The Proper Way To Winterize Your Mopar, According To Me!

As a precaution for Mice Invasion, don't leave your Crotch Cooler Vents or any other vents open for that same reason. I put 1/4" screen at the Cowl Panel drain that is just behind the fender. You can get them in there if you are handy by reaching in from the doors at the hinge areas. Once they...

    RPM drop and electric fans!

I used to work in a Union 76 Service Station as a young man. We had a battery tester that would hook up solid to the positive and negative posts, then you turn the big dial and put one heck of a heavy load on the battery to test it. It was pretty obvious when the battery could not cut it and...

    RPM drop and electric fans!

Possibly put in a new battery with some reserve in it. Kind of sounds like your fully charged (used) battery can't hold the needed 13 volts, so as soon as the fans kick on the "Fields" in the alternator get energized to keep the battery topped up. This is what is dragging down your engine...
