This Guy Used Polyurethane Sealant on his Windshield/Rear Window Gaskets

The body service manual for 1973 (I downloaded from MyMopar site) calls for sealant in the grooves of the rubber seal, along with a bead of sealant across the top of the cowl. Page 7-2, installation of non-cemented glass. Wonder what sealant they used?

    73 Duster dash frame paint

I'm doing an interior color change on a 73 Duster from beige to black. I've got the dash frame out. But I'm having a hard time finding correct paint; for that matter I'm not even sure what's correct. The original dash paint was low sheen, but very smooth. No heavy texture. The fellow who owns...

    73 Duster - I didn't take it apart....body assembly questions

OK, I'm dredging up this old thread...more questions. I got the Duster pretty much mocked up. All the wiring harness is back in place & everything works, so that's good. Figured out the window regulators & thank God not missing any parts there. Door latch mechanisms installed as well, doors...

    73 Duster - I didn't take it apart....body assembly questions

Thanks for the input, I appreciate all the insight. I don't get too worked up about the negative posts. I figure there are way more people who are helpful than not, so I'm willing to take 1 bad with a bunch of good.

    73 Duster - I didn't take it apart....body assembly questions

I downloaded the FSM from the mymopar site. It's for a 73 Dodge, but I figure a 73 duster & 73 Dart would be similar enough. I'll grab the parts catalogues as well, thanks for the tip. From the parts pictures above I've learned that the driver's side door is the 74 type, not a 72 or earlier...

    73 Duster - I didn't take it apart....body assembly questions

Thanks to all. The pictures from speedyD are a big help. Regarding doors, at this point I don't have a single interior panel in my possession so I don't know what they are supposed to look like. Fortunately I have the side glass so we don't have to worry about tracking it down. Of course the...

    73 Duster - I didn't take it apart....body assembly questions

Question 3: the drives side door uses a totally different window regulator than the passenger side. I already did the research & figured out that the drivers door must have been swapped for an earlier door. Other than the window mechanisms the doors look the same to me, but is there any thing I...

    73 Duster - I didn't take it apart....body assembly questions

Thanks for the pictures & advice. I downloaded some manuals from the mymopar site, really helpful. I had it correct, I'm just missing the springs. I'm a little confused, do they just clip from the bucket back to the base plate, or are they screwed on?

    73 Duster - I didn't take it apart....body assembly questions

For the record - I'm a newish member here. My Knowledge of GM A-bodies is dang good. Chrysler? Not so much.... Helping a friend who bought a 73 Duster. One of the cleanest rust free projects I've ever seen, but it came in more pieces than a model kit & no directions. Interior gutted, side glass...

    1973 Duster Fuse block mounting

Ammeter bypass??? I will search that.... I would like to pull the guage cluster, there are no screws holding it in place anyway. Do I need to drop the sttering column a little to wrestle it out?

    1973 Duster Fuse block mounting

Hey, new member here, and new to A-body Mopars in general....have to confess I'm a hardcore Pontiac guy. I have a 1973 Duster in my garage at the moment that belongs to a friend. The backstory is he got it as an abandoned project; it's one of the nicest project cars I've seen, straight as an...
