Ya I fixed the ignition wire runs great now.

Just when I thought I got it all figured out I have a little wire fire at the engine side of the bulk head connector. The J2 16DBL fried about 12" of wire out from the bulkhead. There was actual flames. I put it out pretty fast & I am not really sure what started it as I think it was bad...

took the dash out. got the spring out easy from there.

I guess my Duster has a lot more miles on it thanks. The car was a rotisserie car, body like new but linkages & wiring original.

I am just looking at the manual & see a hook at the short end of the spring that I believe a large screw driver & a pair of channel locks will release the end of the spring.

I am trying to replace the over the centre spring on my 72 Duster 340 4 speed. Has any one done this with any this that has ideas how to get the old spring out? I have washers in the new one ready to go but the one in the car I am having issues getting a screw driver in it. Thanks
