    Dirty D - 73 Duster Street/Strip Build

OK so chasing down this vibration, I had the front wheels rebalanced by a different shop. That helped a ton and leads me to believe the vibration is steering/suspension related. I had the pinion checked out and it came in at -3, which seems appropriate given the rear suspension setup. In the...

    To rebuild or buy crate

I got the same response as you did and it took me months to even get a quote after pestering the shop. Went with a blueprint crate and haven't looked back. Good luck.

    Dirty D - 73 Duster Street/Strip Build

Not a whole lot going on. Fixed the steering issue for free, located where the trans is leaking from, installed a bare bones stereo, and raised the rear end up an inch. I also replaced the urethane trans mount with a rubber mount and the vibrations went way down. Slapped some radials on the...

    727 leak @ clip cover

Found the source of my transmission leak. Any tips on keeping this little area from leaking? This was a new gasket.

Ya stock lower rubber bushings. Everything tightened with the weight of the car. Especially important for the lower control arms because the bushings will tear if you don't tighten with the weight of the car on them.

Right on, I've been following along with your build. Awesome work. I'm at the point now where progress is difficult, but keeping the motivation is harder. So close, yet so far.

    Dirty D - 73 Duster Street/Strip Build

Drove the car 50 miles. Did a bolt check after. All good. I've narrowed the vibration down to the drivetrain. I probably screwed up the pinion so I'll take it by a local 4x4 shop to verify what the actual pinion is. Wish me luck.

@rmchrgr What would you recommend for a conservative total timing plus "vacuum advance"?

Input needed - Timing curve - Terminator X

I chose the option to convert from KPA to PSIG as I am a little more familiar with PSIG. 0=atmosphere. The table was built from scratch and started out very linear. Based on research on this forum, a little youtube university, and some datalogging it has evolved to what you see above, although I...

Input needed - Timing curve - Terminator X

Hey Guys, Not sure if this belongs here or in the SBM forum. Looking for a little input on my timing curve below. Car is running great, just looking for a little more input to see if I am on the right track. Engine is a blueprint 408. Blueprint specified initial and max timing, but other than...

    Dirty D - 73 Duster Street/Strip Build

Updates: Got a windshield installed. What a headache. It's hard to find anyone around here that will put a windshield in an old car. I had two companies blow me off, one that specializes in classic cars, before I found one that would do it. I ordered a windshield through AMD because the only...

    Dirty D - 73 Duster Street/Strip Build

Still waiting on the windshield. The local distributor only had the glass with the shade strip, which I didn't want so I had to order a windshield from AMD. The shipping costs more than the actual windshield, so I'm feeling a little bruised on the price, but I am adamant about not having the...

    Dirty D - 73 Duster Street/Strip Build

Turns out I had a shift lever on the 727 from a B&M shifter which was screwing up the column shift ratio. Sourced an original spec shift arm, installed it, and my shift linkage problems went away. One of those problems I would have never figured out if I wasn't able to look at pictures on the...

    Dirty D - 73 Duster Street/Strip Build

I was able to slip them in without any real problem after the trans/engine were installed. I was very surprised... Now that I've tightened everything up, the steering coupler rubs a little bit. If I had to do it over again, I would have installed the entire package along with the k-member, when...

    Modern electronics = Full rewire

Looking good so far. I rewired my entire car except for the rear harness. I found the wiring colors for my 73 didn't exactly match the diagrams out there, but the schematics were correct.

    Dirty D - 73 Duster Street/Strip Build

The day has finally come, but still dealing with a fuel leak at a NPT joint. I was able to wrap up a lot of loose ends while I waited on the new ignition to arrive and truth be told I may have traced the problem with the original ignition to a loose ground so I can't confidently blame Holley...

Still waiting.... Ignition Box is supposed to shop up today. Turnaround was unbelievably slow. Also still waiting on the driveshaft. They had to order a flange adapter for the Ford 8.8. One day I'll get to drive the car.

    Dirty D - 73 Duster Street/Strip Build

Brand new out of the box from summit. Luckily still under warranty. Edit: Actually it appears out of warranty but they're replacing it anyways. 90 days warranty is kinda chicken **** when I waited months for the terminator x and had to sit on the ignition box while I waited.
