You'll likely keep the MP cam IMHO... this one is really mild. GL!

Paint it, Clear it or Let It Rip?

Not a fan of clear.. but definitely hit it with something.. don't leave it bare. I used regular engine enamel on mine and it's still holding up fine.

    thermostat water neck question

Lil late, but I like mine... sealed great. Only issue I had was the counterbore was a bit tight for the socket head cap screw hardware that came with it. Just got a slightly longer stainless bolt, split & flat washer... solved. No gasket or RTV to mess with...

    very mild 360 build.

^^^ Looks awfully familiar, about .100 in the hole at a guess. Should run on pump gas just fine.

    Oil leak at valve covers

I could not get the Moroso to seal either.. even with aluminum heads and cast valve covers. Ended up using these double stack Felpro cork jobbers with a bit of right stuff...

    very mild 360 build.

If it's in the budget.. I'd recommend some QA1 single adjustable. Cannot explain how much better these are than stock shocks... feels like a different car with them on all 4 corners and you can dial them in to your ride preference and style. Liked them so much I put them on all 4 corners of my...

    very mild 360 build.

Honestly not sure what kind of "seat of the pants" difference the slight bump in compression results in as opposed to other changes. My 360 has a stock bottom end as well.. dished pistons .100 in the hole with a 268H cam (.450/.450). I used a set of 1:6 ratio roller rockers so valve lift is...

    very mild 360 build.

^^ This. My mindset when I freshened up the 360 in my Challenger. Peppy but well mannered. I'm running a 2.76 open rear in mine as I frequently drive open highway and it's nice to hold the fast lane and still get 18mpg... up to 23mpg if I'm lighter on the fun petal.

    GM Alternators

Sounds right.. think 63~65 timeframe was when they switched to alternators. Looked into a 1 wire replacement for my 74 Challenger but they all seem to come with a pressed on single groove pulley. Ended up with a Powermaster 95A. The fans on my radiator alone can draw 70A at startup.. still...

Front "China wall" sealing issue on SBM

I feel ya.. china rail seeping oil is my bane so I use Right Stuff. Usually once you get one corner moving it'll release. Razer blade followed by a wire brush usually does a good cleanup. Ultra black will likely be fine as well.. just be sure to measure the gap and get a good size bead in there...

    Torque Strap?

Does Schumacher not offer poly locker's any more? I use a poly locker on my drivers side and regular rubber mount on passenger. Does a decent job of not sounding too much like solid mounts unless I'm on the skinny pedal. GL!

    Heads

Not Speedmaster.. but I got 63cc heads to bump the compression on my 360LA a bit. Slugs are a full .100 in the hole so I did not have to worry about interference. MY2C

    Distributor filling itself with oil

The fix is RTV... mine was filling with oil as well. I upgraded the module and coil while I had it on the bench. Flip it over and fill all the holes but one. I used Right stuff. Been a few thousand miles and no issues since.

    Engine mount bad

I'd just do the passenger side.. the torque chain is likely sparing the drivers side any real work.
  28. 74Scooter

    Engine mount bad

My 360LA had that same lean when I bought the car... it was the poly lock on the passenger side causing the tilt. Think if you swap out the passenger side mount you will likely be fine.
