Yup, looks like you are correct! So far closest I have found are these Buick / Oldsmobile mirrors (looks like almost 1:1 to me) but they are out of stock :(

Yes, I'm perfectly happy also keeping this mirror on the drivers side. I'm just trying to figure out where that mirror came from, so I can try to source identical to put it on the passenger side.

That was my first idea as well, but the base on Mopar mirrors are much, much shorter than the one I currently have. I'm afraid there can me marks or outline of the larger base visible if it's replaced by smaller one.

I'm planning on using the metal frame also. That 60-year-old plastic seems very brittle, so I don't trust it alone to hold the gauges. I just need to figure out where and how much I need to cut away from the frame and the car, since Valiant instrument panel is so much narrower..

Like other have said, they are mostly held in by friction. I had to Dremel the gauge openings larger, and I just went really slow, and test fitted the gauges often. Yup, after some more measuring and hard contemplating I ended up with the route to install all gauges on top of the plastic cover. It's not perfect, but I'm happy how it's turning out. And hey, it's not a show car! It's street / strip car so it's better if it's not too nice :lol:

Thanks for all the tips! I still think I'm going to order some thinner mounts as backup, and then start tearing into it as soon as I get the car back home. I'm also keeping an eye out for the shorter engine brackets and even different set of headers.

Question then remains, if the transmission crossmember and mount are both correct, why is the engine sitting too high? Issue being, that the header tubes hit the frame rail from below. If the trans mount is broken (which is 100% possible looking at the state of the engine mounts :lol: )...

Both transmission and rear axle have been changed by the previous owner, so I don't have any facts about the installation available. I suspect that at least the axle is in stock location since car seems to have stock rear suspension, but naturally angle of the axle could be different than it...

Does the orientation of the mount affect the height where the engine will sit? Please check my previous photo: the issue I fear is that if the engine goes any higher, the header which curls under the frame rail, starts hitting the frame rail.

I received the Anchor 2710 mounts, and the positive news is that they still do have the locking tabs also embedded in the rubber. Looks like the advertisement pictures are not correct. "Bad" news is that they are both thick and sturdy. I really afraid there is zero change for me to use these...
