EFI considerations for a 1970 383 with very mid cam

Thanks to all for the information, experience and recommendations. My prelimanary reseach showed the Holley as a very good candidate. Another question: I currently have an MSD distributor and MSD 6AL box. It's hard to tell from your posts if this is suitable with a Holley Sniper. Will this be ok...

EFI considerations for a 1970 383 with very mid cam

Hello all, I am switching from an Edelbrock 650 to an efi. Looking for some key considerations I need to be aware of when picking the efi system. This is my first swap so any knowledge is better than whee I am now. I have a new tank, inside tank fuel pump and feed / return lines - just need...

    Seat belt bolts

I have the same question as the OP but for a 1975 bench seat Duster. Looking to replace the jury-rigged setup currently in the car with three point belts (no center belt). If anyone knows the bolt size for that year, or maybe even have the bolts, please let me know. TIA

    Bayonet shifter - won't give!

SUCCESS! Follow-up on shifter - took all the suggestions of using one size larger feeler guage, .011, and soaking with PB overnight. Had my son help (who's alot stronger than me!) and by pulling the shifter to the passengers side really hard allowed the guage to get deeper, first pushing down...

    Bayonet shifter - won't give!

Crude 418 thanks. All the posts I've seen say the indent is on the drivers side and the new lever I just bought from Brewers has the detent on the drivers side. I'll try a larger guage as going smaller doesn't work (tried that already). I'll go as big as I can. I'll let you know how it goes...

    Bayonet shifter - won't give!

Hello everyone, I read that to remove a bayonet shifter, a .01" feeler guage works. I've been trying for a while now and the guage gets in about 1/4 inch and then stops. Attempts to push it further results in the guage bending from the force required. At this depth I've pulled and yanked and...

Pictures needed of mounting locations for retractable 3-point seat belts

Ok, thanks I'll try that. I will probably have to take up the carpet and get more involved as the PO put sound deadening matting all through the interior!

Pictures needed of mounting locations for retractable 3-point seat belts

Hi All, The PO redid the interior on my 1975 Duster and only installed a simple lap belt anchored to, what looks like, a random bolt under the seat. Can anyone provide pictures of where the retractable lap, or better yet, retracable 3-point seat belt mounts? I ask because the same PO recarpeted...

    Rebuilding a bench seat

Here is the 'after' pic (albeit not well lit). It shows the new very stiff seating area along with the relief cut-out for the shifter.

    Door panel screws

Hey everyone, Does anyone know where to purchase the below screws with button caps? I have a few stripped ones I'd like to replace but cannot seem to find these particular ones. I'd rather keep these rather than replace all of them with something else. A previous owner put these in. TIA

Where to post a "wanted part" post

Thanks toolmanmike, I'll do that and see if it gets removed again. I'm looking for the inner door latch for a 1975 duster - hopefully not too random.

[FOR SALE] Power bucket seats - $400 for the pair

A pair of front power bucket seats from a 2017 Chyrsler Pacifica. All motors work as new. All that you need is a 12v power and a ground wire to be operational. They includes the flip up rear video screens and inputs/outputs. Purchased for much more to install in my 1975 Duster but went another...

Valve Cover Gasket Question (yes, another)

The picture below explains the massive leak - must have caught the the gasket on the rockers trying to shoe horn the cover into place. Well the chrome stamped covers were ****. The gasket surface wasn't nearly wide enough for the gasket. Must be china crap as it was also too short for the gasket...

    Rebuilding a bench seat

Thanks for all the input. I found a custom auto upolsterer who is going to rebuild the bench seat and then add extra stiffness so there is virtually no sag. The appt is for 8/8/23. Once it's done I'll post a follow-up.

Valve Cover Gasket Question (yes, another)

Update - the way the oil was pouring out (there's a line going up my driveway and where the car sat for a minute) I have a feeling I pinched or otherwise messed up the gasket placement. It's like a puzzel trying to get the back of the right side VC on, working to get around the blower motor. My...

    Rebuilding a bench seat

Hi Everyone, I was going to install a pair of buckets to replace the current bench but have changed direction on that. I want to keep my current bench seat but the drivers side is super soft / cratered like a 400 pound man was driving it for a long time. I sink 6+ inches down when I sit on it...

Valve Cover Gasket Question (yes, another)

Ok, follow up on the gasket and it leaks worse now than before - I resembled the old time mosquito patrol with a cloud bellowing behind me. Followed all directions to a 'T' inc;luding let it cure for 24 hours but no luck at all. Leaking along the bottom at the back I think, but air flow may have...

Shops or people that work on A Body's near Eastern PA

Hi Everyone, Not sure this is the best forum to post this. If not let me know. I need to find a shop to help me with work on my 1975 Duster. My current need is help replacing the front bench seat with a pair of bucket seats from a 2017 Chrysler Pacifica. I assume it will entail some bracket...

Valve Cover Gasket Question (yes, another)

Krazykuda - See below. The 'Mopar' cover is the one that was on the car and failed twice. I purchased the chrome stamped cover because I've heard before that the cast aluminum are problems. To be 'safe' (?) I'm going to use the stamped cover instead of the flashy Mopar cover. I'll gentle use...

Valve Cover Gasket Question (yes, another)

Hi everyone, I've reviewed many of the threads on this topic and be,ieve I have a plan to fix my issue. I have a 1970 383 engine in a 1975 Duster. I replaced both valve covers due to leaks. The drivers side is fine, however the passenger side is still leaking slightly. The gasket used was a...

    1970 "DUPED" Dart Swinger

Sorry about your experience. I too just bought a 1975 Duster from someone in FL (flew down and trailered back) who did disclose a few known 'issues'. While sparing you all the gory details, I'm now forced to address about two dozen issues. Suffice to say I won't ever buy another classic /...
