A833 main case hole pattern PCD, casting SBM/6 bell housing New Zealand

Hi Team, I have found a casting/tool maker to make a bell housing for me, I was going to get a lakeside and weld the hole and mirror it on the other side (New Zealand RHD) but the only hole pattern is SBM I had a look to find a template on here and Google but no such luck, I was hoping...

    Cutting A833 Input Shaft Question

the crank centre makes sense, i thought they were all drilled to take a pilot bush for a longer input shaft but I guess not makes sense for this one to perhaps be a shortened "long" input shaft, and perhaps was suited to be put behind a non-drilled crank. at the time the owner perhaps thought...

    Cutting A833 Input Shaft Question

i guess it is hard to tell if it has been altered yep I think Ill do that, Ill have to brush up on the imperial measurements. I do wonder why would some one shorten the input shaft in favour to run it in the convertor spigot ? that looks like a handy book, ill keep an eye out for one

    Cutting A833 Input Shaft Question

Hi Dave, all good points here thanks. You make a good point with the gussets. If it has been shortened what do you think it has been shortened for and with an 18 spline? What's this MP chassis book you talk of? I did a search and couldn't find much about it. The machine job looks very good...

hello from New Zealand, 18 spline head ache a833.

Yep no worries, I think that bearing is a off the shelf for a .75 shaft thats been cut down for whatever reason which makes sense, I wonder if that make one to suit a .6 shaft, ill have to see and look
  14. chrisskates2004

hello from New Zealand, 18 spline head ache a833.

i looked at the roller bearing on brewers and its sized for a normal size .75 shaft, so ill either have to make a sleeve or a stepped bronze bush with a .6 ID something like that, the 1st step may not be necessary but if i have it on the lathe and the material then why not. Thanks all for...

    A833 in GM trucks?

I wonder if the overall length of a gm Th350 bell housing and shorter than a standard Mopar 7 3/8? That would make sense, because this shaft is about 1 inch too short The bearing retainer is also larger but the snub shaft is smaller which doesn’t make much sense

hello from New Zealand, 18 spline head ache a833.

i like this reply  sounds like there is no soft start with this box much involved in re-sharpening the teeth? loc tite at the ready! sounds like I've got to be pretty brave with this box, it does sound like it needs to be near the thigh/pistol holster, not way out far in front by the...
