Hi, need some help. recent rebuild 340 mild cam, 1406 carb. mopar elec. distributor, timing set at 16. question is when i block the vacuum line for the vacuum advance it runs great but when i unblock vacuum line to vacuum advance it has a hesitation when i raise the rpm. thanks for your help.

Hey thanks guys what a difference with this MP distributor runs great never go cheapo on your distributor. oh and this was on a 340 thanks again.

just got a MP distributor new. i have the motor on top dead center and the oil pin gear distributor slot pointing to the front of motor. ok the old distributor was ok but i decided to buy a MP DIST. The car ran OK pulled the old out and the new MP rotor will not line up with the number 1 piston...

timing 18 plugged vacuum, pro form distribitor, carb adjusted in idle soon as starts stumpling 3/4 turn out. redone machined 40 over, 360 j heads, mild cam, idle 850. timing curve and total timing i think thats really out my league.

340 was totaly redone and was running good. this has started resently. one thing i do notice now is that when i leave the car sitting 4 to 5 days with out starting it, takes a long time to start some times i have to add gas to the carb and then starts right up. who know this may be a different...

well was using a mac dail up. if i get chance today will be using sun timing light.

try a sheet or 2 of 100 sand paper on an even surface sometimes they worp from the heat. put stat housing on a flat surface if its not even with surface sand it and even it out some. this will happen often to cast housings.

well moved timing and did carb ajustment, samething timing jumping, also checked for crank to rotor play none and disconnected vacuum. using different timing light today.
