1969 Dodge Dealership Salesman Data Book Fun Facts Questions

I know this is an older thread, but I just hit the jackpot on these dealership books from a friend. This group has the desireableyears from 67-71 and also has the full set of smaller “fast facts” books for each year. Needless to say I am thrilled to have them.

    67 barracuda dash refinishing?

I’ve got the dash panel out of my 67 barracuda so I can clean everything, check the switches and wiring harness, replace the bulbs, etc. My car is an unrestored car that I bought off of the original owner this fall. The car had been stored in a Quonset for 30 years, and the mice had gotten into...

    Making switch tabs

I would definitely buy a replacement switch if I can find one which is why this convo started in the parts wanted forum but I thought it might be worth exploring the possibility of fixing the one I have if I can’t find a replacement

    Making switch tabs

I have been chatting in the parts wanted forum with some members who suggested I move the discussion here in the electrical forum. I’ve removed the dash and gauges from my 67 barracuda for a refresh and a cleaning. I doubt anything has been removed since the factory as I bought this car from the...

[WANTED] 1967 barracuda wiper and heater switches

I suppose a guy could just make new tabs out of the appropriate gauge brass and solder them onto the rivets on the switch?

[WANTED] 1967 barracuda wiper and heater switches

Yes, it is variable speed and the shaft rotates. The issue with the switch is 4 or 5 of the wiring harness plug tabs have broken off. Can you buy new tabs?

[WANTED] 1967 barracuda wiper and heater switches

I don’t see a part number on the wiper switch. Where would I look for it? Cheers, Todd

[WANTED] 1967 barracuda wiper and heater switches

I am refreshing the dash and gauge cluster on my 1967 barracuda. In taking the dash out some of the times on the back of these 2 switches were corroded and broke off and stayed in the harness connector, so I am needing a replacement wiper switch, and heater motor switch. If you have one or both...

    Auto tranny number stamping?

Ah yes, you are right. I was working on my 69 charger this week and had 727 on the brain.

    Auto tranny number stamping?

I cleaned off the stamping on the left side of my 727 above the oil pan on my 67 barracuda 273 commando car. The number stamping are clear but seem a bit strange to me compared to B and E body automatic numbers that I’ve seen over the years. I thought I would throw the stamped numbers up to see...

    273 dilemma

Will definitely be checking out the trans pump pressure; I’ve already checked the tranny cooler lines and they aren’t blocked at all. Looks like the engine has never been out of the car, and it’s the factory converter by the orange factory paint spray mark on the converter and the flex plate...

    273 dilemma

I’m going to hunt for a forged 273 crank, but if that doesn’t work out I’ll consider the 318 option.

    273 dilemma

So a guy could use a 318 crank and the 273 rods and domed pistons and it would be exactly the same?

    273 dilemma

So in my research it shows that the throw is different on a 318 crank than on my forged 273 crank. Is that correct?

    273 dilemma

    Will do

    273 dilemma

People have told me that a cast 318 crank would fit, but might create issues in regards to balancing, etc because the rods and pistons are different from a size and weight perspective than 318 stuff which could lead to issues.

    273 dilemma

I’m looking for opinions on how to proceed with a problem I have with the 273 commando engine that is matching numbers in my 67 formula S fastback barracuda that I bought recently. The car is an unrestored survivor, and the car has been stored inside for 30 years by the original owner whom I...

    4 piston calipers question

An update on the front brake refresh. I have both calipers fully torn down and cleaned. The grease trick worked well to get the pistons out and things came apart fairly easily. So the result is that I have a hint of pitting on 3 pistons, and 5 that are perfect, and the caliper bores look great...

    4 piston calipers question

Great tile fellas, thanks. What assembly lube would you guys recommend; just brake fluid?

    4 piston calipers question

So a quick update on my caliper project. I pulled just the drivers side and used the grease trick, and all 4 pistons came out pretty easily. Tge good news is that the cylinder bores, and the pistons are in great condition. The rubber boots have some small tears and nicks so I will definitely...

    4 piston calipers question

So a first update. I thought I would start with the drivers side and surprisingly all of the brake line fittings came free with just minor persuasion. I have the caliper fully disassembled on the bench, and I now need to go about removing the pistons which appear to be stuck. Someone here...

    4 piston calipers question

I’ve got the car in the lift and have rebuilt the rear brakes, replaced the leaking pinion seal and the U joints. I’ll pull one of the front calipers tomorrow and post up my findings

    4 piston calipers question

I’m slowly going through the mechanicals on my survivor 67 barracuda I bought from the original owner. The car had sat in a barn for 30 years or so. I’ve gone through the rear brakes and I’m about to get into the front disc brakes. Are there any tips or tricks on inspecting these calipers to...

[WANTED] Fold down rear divider trim

I am needing a piece of trim for the rear of my 67 fastback barracuda. The rear trunk fold down divider has carpet on the inside, and the edge of the carpet is covered with black metal trim (4 pieces). I am missing the curved top piece that covers the drivers side top of the fold down divider...
