Small block bottom build horsepower limit

You wanna see people whine, tell them what I sold you your R3 block for, lol
  4. replicaracer43

Small block bottom build horsepower limit

And if you need to do all that to a factory block to withstand your power goals, you need a better block PERIOD. How many idiots are gonna spend 2k dollars on a weak *** 302 block when you could buy a WAY superior block from dart for the same final cost and make more power?

Small block bottom build horsepower limit

David vizard is a story teller/book writer. Tons of "theory" and "formulas" But hes also a crook. He **** a good freind of mine who has a machine shop also, out of a bunch of labor for machine work he never paid for.

Solid roller lifters for LA type head

I really like the bamm lifters also. If your running any w type head, or indy with offset rockers, I like the offset pushrod seat option

1969 Race Dart w/ 426 Hemi- garaged for 45+ years

I'm guessing you know zero about a hemi engine huh?
  8. replicaracer43

Small block bottom build horsepower limit

I'm not gonna call anybody. I asked YOU to provide the BASIC info on how this engine, that YOU have bragged about performs. You CANT, so I'm fine with that. End of discussion

Small block bottom build horsepower limit

    So no actual data.....thanks
  10. replicaracer43

Small block bottom build horsepower limit

Ok, as a engine builder, I'm just curious to know the particular details of what it runs. If there is no actual data to back it up, so be it. I'm not concerned about pbr, he can speak for himself, but his results are all over this site, for all to see. He gets more out of his builds than most...

Small block bottom build horsepower limit

John has probably made more passes THIS season than your buddy has in the last 5. That's what I think he was getting at. And if the elevation is the excuse, post the rest of the particulars of these passes, I'm open minded!
  12. replicaracer43

Small block bottom build horsepower limit

That would be a perfect way to ruin a good block. I suspect the shop trying to sell you that hasn't bothered to probe a lifter bore and tell you how far out of true it is. With that backyard system, you can follow the original lifter bore, which IS off, and put a bushing in there even more...

Small block bottom build horsepower limit

Where exactly is he "wrong"? That high power exotic engine isn't even as fast as pb racers flat tappet 360
  14. replicaracer43

Small block bottom build horsepower limit

Forget that tube hassle. Send them to me and I'll bush them. Let's you set lifter to bore clearance that way also, rather than being stuck at whatever dimension your old block happens to be

    Is something up at Scat?

I agree with everything your saying
  16. replicaracer43

    Is something up at Scat?

I personally like the 3.79 stroke combos, good ballance of extra stroke but not excessive. Add a set of W2s or indy heads, it's a great combo
  17. replicaracer43

    Is something up at Scat?

Yeah, but in my opinion, I dont see any real advantage over the 4" stroke, and it also increases rod angle, thrust load on the cylinder and a shorter piston comp height. Most ALL of the stroked sbm builds are cylinder head limited anyway. But again, that's just one guys opinion!

    Is something up at Scat?

I could have built you one and shipped it to you by now! Still can if you are interested!

360 Magnum Daily Driver (but fun too!!!)

Lots of people have. Myself included. Did some R&D work for another shop, found that upper 260 cfm is possible with a good valve job and bowl work. Not very difficult. HOWEVER, compared to a stock OEM magnum head, they are slightly worse flow wise until you work on them.

1969 Race Dart w/ 426 Hemi- garaged for 45+ years

I was gonna say the EXACT same thing!

How about a bit of Hemi ****...just to keep everyone paying attention

Indy 360-1 Cylinder heads on small block LA's

What I did was to simply mill the intake for valve cover clearance. But like pbr said, gotta make sure you have pushrod clearance, it gets tight.
  24. replicaracer43

Indy 360-1 Cylinder heads on small block LA's

I think when a guy is trying to step into this level, the price of rockers shouldn't deter him. Quality costs, and T&D are really nice parts. Even harland sharp aluminum rockers are north of 1000 bucks nowdays
  25. replicaracer43

Indy 360-1 Cylinder heads on small block LA's

I thought the indys just simply used big block rockers? Mine had rockers allready, so I'm not sure
  26. replicaracer43

Indy 360-1 Cylinder heads on small block LA's

Either one would absolutely stomp his old procomps, even AS CAST
  27. replicaracer43

1969 Race Dart w/ 426 Hemi- garaged for 45+ years

That's totally up to him, but it would be a good way to get the carbs dialed in!
